2009 Watchies. Rules, suggestions and discussion

Post by [Syl] »

I think it's that time.

Mod edit: made this the official rules and comments thread for the 2009 Watchies. ~m
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I"d like to nominate Zarathustra for the worst name change.
Dude, it sucks.

Seconded. Though I feel I'm a bit of a hypocrite to do so, even though I never changed my name.

The Watchies are our version of the Oscars. With categories appriate to this forum, like Best Avatar (which always goes to Avatar, don't know why).

Is there a Watchie this year for best story about Nom? :D :D :D Otherwise, my prospects are looking bleak this year.

Who had that really creepy Halloween avatar? Was that Mennolly? That should get a nomination. :) Though, I've only been around for half the year or so. Not sure I should get a say in things. :-P

Best Avatar is definitely a category, Kaydene.
Post way's Halloween av in the Spotlights, so it is noted for when nominations officially open.

Are we nominating yet? If yes, then I nominate her ^^, two posts up, as newbie of the year.

I think Syl is just giving us all a heads up about the Watchies. If I have the procedure correct, proper nomination threads will appear next week (or re-edited as such from last year's threads). So don't go away - keep your nominations in mind!
