No, no more awards categories. Please. Let's just get this over with. :hithead:

I dunno, tho. If we could think up one more besides the THOOOOOOOTPIE, we'd have an even 50 categories.

At this rate, not all of the categories will be on the ballot though...

Thanks Luci!
Nominations will close on Monday and I'll verify what I have for the ballot over the week or so. I hope for voting to begin no later than the 14th.

Regarding the signature nomination, if someone seconds it, I'll let it stand. After all, it's not your signature, so you're not self-nominating...
...kinda. ;)

Unfortunately, please see the newbie of the year thread regarding your nomination there... :(

Eh, the rules don't say anything about a registration date. Considering the spirit of the award and the fact that his first post is in 2009, why not? If anything, I think we should encourage people who take the time to see how everything works before posting, showing a kind of dedication that doesn't lead to the majority of posters in the introduction thread to disappear within a handful of posts.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

hmm...
Since I was able to find his first post in the Say Hello in Here thread, and it is dated February, 2009, even though a regular search did not go back that far, OK.

Will delete my post saying he is ineligible.

Stevie G's first post was 2009-02-12. That should be what counts!

We don't count people who don't post as newbies, do we? They're not even bies, never mind newbies!

What? Oh. nevermind.

I agree, everytime I go to a new board, I always like to look around and get a taste of the culture of the board. One of the biggest problems some people have with new boards is they make a faux pas with their first couple of posts that they weren't even aware of, because they didn't know this board was anal about the search feature or that board insists newbies post in the introduction thread first, of another board doesn't allow any off topic threads, etc, etc, etc.

Hey, Menolly posted a comment in a nomination thread. I think Menolly should move Menolly's post and give Menolly a stern talking to. :)

Well, Stevie's kinda lucky that our once formidable admin Alynna hasn't been around for a while.
Didn't she regularly used to round up and delete accounts that showed zero postings for more than a year?
Jay may have carried the banstick, but ya didn't wanna mess with Alynna. ;)

I've posted several since I became mod that could be interpreted as comments when it came to eligibility of a nomination.

I believe Vain took such action over, and I think lurkers with zero posts are now given two years without a post at all before accounts are deleted.
...but I could be wrong.

Oy! Don't start encouraging her to talk to herself. That way lies madness, hair loss, and temporal paradoxes. :hairs:
