I'm not sure how well the whole cat and rat thing would "play" out...

I'm a serious Rat, not sure how much fun it would be, but if you're up for it, Tom and Jerry may finally have made friends.

Well, it would mean Goat would have to read quite so much R-Rated porn about Sasha and Seven. I was fine until they were in the same room with me, and they started demonstrating everything over the dice table.

That's what gave Ekaterina the idea to use Sasha to demonstrate stuff on Sasha in her song.

I keep wondering if I can gouge out just one eye, and maybe purge the image enough that I can function in regular society, but still be able to see with the other eye.

No need to maul yourself. (Unless you're getting into the BSD role.) You could get an eye patch and cover your eye when they go to demonstrate.

By the way, Zeigenmörder.

Alína's current story gave me reason to revisit Lily's/Niggle's back story from the Autarch's Purgatory. I did enjoy writing that story; one of the ones that flowed easily for me for once; and written before I knew anything about any of the White Wolf RPG's or their rules, I think.

Thanks.

The question was more if removing only one eye would somehow dampen the memory.

It might forever burn that vision into that eye socket as it was the last thing it saw.

I think the LAST thing it sees would be a super-close-up view of my thumb.

Beware the THUMB!

Excuse me while I go scream for an hour. I had a nice long drawn out bout of RP. Chrome crashed and it was gone. I'm too angry to type it out again right now. Maybe later when I don't feel like throwing my computer.

Ouch. :(

When I'm doing a long post, I've gotten in the habit of doing a ctrl-a ctrl-c for just that reason.

Anything more than combat here or a quick reply, I use notepad then copy it over for a post.

Cowards! Live on the edge! Feel the rush of typing a huge post into the tiny little box, and wondering if your login has timed out while you wrote. Hit submit, not knowing if all your hard work and carefully crafted words will come to naught.

Yes! Love it!

At least on firefox I can use the back button and any text I wrote will still be in the post box.

...most of the time.

Maybe one in three times with IE.

That makes it 2/3 more exciting, though!

FYI... I did some stuff to my home network this weekend. The side effect is that the server that houses all the pictures for Vampire and Inferno is being flaky.

So, if the pictures don't load... come back in a day or so.

Ladies and gentlemen, and Taduz, I have returned. Yes, I know... I say that a lot. The proof of it this time will be found only if I remain. So, let my actions speak for me.

But, since it takes a village, I am giving people permission to... let's go so far as to say that I am requesting that you harass me to post more often. Some of you have my instant messenger accounts, or SMS number. Blast me when you've posted, and nag me to respond.

And now that I've gotten all the posts current, the next step is to assign XP. I'd almost forgotten that we did that in this game.

So, having done the Mea Culpas, I'd like to point out that the big thing that's been sucking my time recently is the Encyclopedia Infernalis site. It started as a place to have tighter control of the page layout and cross-linking on the background info for the Inferno game. However, it ended up being easier to just move the whole Inferno game over there. I have set up the forums with the intent to move this Vampire game over there as well, except that it's going to be a massive pain the tookus to actually move all the threads and posts over to there. Inferno had a couple hundred posts total, and Dark Ages has nearly three thousand. I'm not even going to try to move those by hand.

So, for now, Dark Ages stays here. But, feel free to head over to the site, make an account for your character, and take a look if you feel like lurking on Inferno. Perhaps other games will show up there as well, from other sources.

And, in case anybody is wondering why all the pictures here are all borked up, it's because I'm trying to move the sullivanhome.net site over to the same hosting service, and there's some hassles with getting the namespace moved. (We have to click on a link in an email that was sent, but that email went to an address that no longer exists, because it was buried in some cryptic-ass spot in the old hosting site. Probably on or around the 16th, this will get sorted out.)

And finally, welcome Marianna of Twinsriver to the game. Some of you may recognize her from the Prophets game, because that player is choosing to re-use the login instead of trying to remember another account name. This leaves us with Marianna in the Giovanni story, and Marianna of Twinsriver in the Vienna thread. Let's hope the two characters don't intersect. That would get confusing. (And yes, they really are two different people.)

Everyone should have received a PM with your XP awards. Going forward, I have declared a system for awarding XP, which is posted at the end of the Vampire Character Gen thread in the Rules forum.

Today's awards don't necessarily follow that pattern, and I threw a couple extra in there for everybody, for being such good sports about my own absences in the past several months.
