The sprites are about six inches tall, vaguely humanoid, though made of flame. There are perhaps 15 of them left now, down from 19 originally.
Behind Taduz is the door out of the room. Beyond that are Lady Almanov and Sir Leopold, whipping the servant girl. On the table behind them is another large wine jug. On the wall in front of them is another tapestry, this one older than the first, and coming all the way down to the floor. It mostly looks pink, with any imagery upon it having faded with time.

Milosh, my brother, Petru didn't let me down, let me pull this off as you tried to teach me.
Taduz tears the tapestry down, douses it with the jug's liquid soaking the tapestry, wraps it about himself, and dives sidewise towards the sprites seeking to squish them beneath the soaking wet tapestry, being rolled over by the Taduz inside.
Taduz keeps rolling, trying to keep his bearings after a distance from them, and gets up to survey his handiwork.

One falls your way, one falls against...
Taduz tries to wriggle down to retrieve his dagger that has gotten him through much this eve, and cut his way out.

In his haste, Taduz still has the dagger in his hand, but the tapestry is wrapped so tightly that he can't make a solid cut on it. He can feel the blade's tip slowly making progress on a hole, however.
As he progresses, he can feel the cloth being picked up gently. There's no particular place of being picked up, as if human hands were doing the task. Simply all of the piece rises slightly at the same moment. Then he can feel himself being marched to his left, and as he goes he can feel the uneven gates of many small beings as they carry him thither.
The bottom of the rug begins to get warmer. And warmer. Taduz feels a small hop, as he is thrown into the fire. The rug remains tightly wrapped around him. He screams as he feels all of his body burning to ashes. Eventually, he dies in agony.
[Here ends the harrowing.]
