Tolkien's Letters

Post by Zarathustra »

Anyone ever read this book? I'm almost done with my second read. It's been years since the first time. I wish I'd started this thread from the beginning, and posted some quotes. It's a great insight into the Man himself, and his work. He answers letters from fans, personal letters to his wife and children, business letters to his publishers, and talks of everything under the sun from religion to pubs. Just a brilliant, caring man. I highly recommend it.

No I haven't actually. It's one I keep meaning to get hold of. I'm sure I'd love it so no idea why I haven't yet.

I"ve read it. Has some fascinating insights, not only into Tolkien but also some of his fans.
