Do you think we should "Dissect" HP?

And the Harry Potter series.

What would you say to Dissecting Happy Potter? If enough people are game, We'll do it.

I've no problem with it. There are a number of authors just on this forum alone (KW) that we can spend time dissecting. Tolkien is one that would be an interesting one as well as the others.

If you got enough positive responese to HP then by all means count me in.

I'll give people a week to response, but I'm going to try and make some one who isn't a moderator one. To give them a little bit of power, heh.

What would dissecting HP entail? Since I haven't been apart of the other dissections I don't really know...

And what would a joint moderator do?

You really should read the Dissecting the Land pieces Leper Fairy. They offer a unique opportunity to discuss what is happening as a story. We may discuss several important parts of the story separately in their own threads, but in the dissection we actually try to see how it all fits together.

On a more practical note a dissection usually consists of a series of threads which are posted at regular intervals and which deals with one part of a book (usually a chapter or two). One person writes a review of only this part, which then forms the basis for a dicussion in the forum.

The most important job in dissection is being a moderator, which usually means getting people to commit to doing the job and then making sure they deliver more or less on time.

Hmm... I think I'll let Infelice have the job. :) Sounds fun though... I might participate in a couple of those.

That would be a cool idea Darth. I wouldn't mind being a mod, but you will have to coach me through it. Only problem is that a friend had my copies of TPS and CoS.

Yes. But it will have to wait until after Christmas. I'll be breaking up from school in a few days, and will not be able to post for a couple of weeks.
