Thank you, Somefather.

Is the texture to the trees, sand, and lakes/rivers new with this map? Or have I been unobservant all along?

So... in an effort to avoid both studying and the sleep I so dearly want, I'm hanging out bulk-posting in Gravin Threndor. And I had an idea.

Now that Aesir is done, I'm curious to know what all people were doing behind the scenes. Since Vanir is based on the long-term outcomes of those actions, this MAY not be a really great plan... knowing all of that stuff could reveal secrets. But we each know what our previous characters were doing, and we're each choosing to role-play as if our new characters didn't know all that stuff. I would hope that we could continue to do that with knowledge of what everybody else's previous characters were up to.

So, Odin, could you perhaps unlock the original Aesir Discussion thread, or maybe the game thread... and then we could all go in and brain-dump what all had gone on, and where we'd originally envisioned taking things.

The issue I see is that you're suggesting this in a game that's run by someone who doesn't believe in and out of game knowledge can or should be seperated.

I'm still clearing things up with one of you, but the rest have results.

I suppose there's not much difference between those of you who did stuff in Aesir knowing what you did, and everybody else knowing. Just don't try to take advantage of it, eh? If Menolly says she made some artifact, or balon says he had a blah blah, I'm not gonna let anybody suddenly get the idea in their head to go root around in some particular place.

We're already suppressing our own player knowledge. Shouldn't be that hard to suppress extra stuff. Especially since Vanir is all done as Odin's interpretation of what all we did. There's no guarantee that he's staying true to our original stuff. Or that things haven't changed since then. Maybe the Judge found Balon!'s artifact and moved it? Or Uruk's followers moved it?

Yup, that's what made me figure "What the hell."

So results are all out. Deadline for Turn 8, Winter, is Friday, March 11th.

That sort of openess is what I like.
I'd post all my turns for sure. Especially because I'm going in a way different direction now.

I'm just chuckling at the gap between "just don't try to take advantage of it" and this:

Anything posted in Comments that you think is off limits is NOT off limits. Of course, it goes both ways. Feel free to use anything I say anywhere.
I realise there's a bit of difference between what you do with current characters and what you did with past ones, but there's still an element of irony there.

Telling people what I was doing would spoil all the fun. Once the game is over, maybe.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

So, I guess what I'm suggesting is that Aesir IS over. If it isn't, I agree that we shouldn't share. But while I was pretty pumped that some of the stuff I'd done as Erd showed up in Vanir, I figure that's more fan-service than serious plot-changing information.

But maybe what you were doing will have that much impact. In which case, I really want to know it. ;)

Murrin, you need not feel obligated to post anything you did in Aesir. And you don't have to worry that I'll take advantage of OOC information in Vanir. Is there anything else that's bothering you about Vanir?

In Murrin's defense, I don't think he was bothered. I think he was just amused.
