MLB playoffs 2010

Anything can happen post season. It's always fun to see which teams can keep their winning momentum going into October. Hopefully there will be some close series this year.

Definitely some nice pitching on the first day of the playoffs. Cliff Lee subdues Tampa Bay with 10 strikeouts and Roy Halladay pitches a no-hitter for the Phillies.

Ah man, Halladay is awesome. Now Oswalt up tomorrow, I'm liking the Phils' outlook.

And watching the Twins blow it again against the Yanks, what a bunch of losers.

Yeah, the Twins have their work cut out for them that's for sure. Down two games to the Yanks...good luck!

The Twins must hate the Yankees passionately! Swept in the ALDS this year and last, and lost 3-1 when they met in the ALDS in 2003 and 2004.

But the Yankees will likely have to face Cliff Lee a couple times in the ALCS. He beat them twice with Philadelphia in the World Series last year, but they managed to win the series anyway. Then he beat them at least a couple times this year.

Of course, if they manage to pull it off against Texas, they'll probably have to face the Phillies again this year (third straight year for the Phillies!), with Halladay this time.

No matter how you slice it, it should be a great WS! Could be Lee vs Halladay. Or CC vs Halladay.

Right?? Nice job, Rays! It sure looked bad a couple days ago. Heh. Truth is, I'd rather see the Yanks and Rays in the ALCS. The Rays won the season series 10-8. I'd rather the Yankees get to the WS by beating them, and redeeming themselves. And if the Rays win, well, they'll really have proven they're the better team.

Now we have to wait until Tuesday to find out. Sheesh!!! Good luck against Cliff Lee, though.

There have been some great games so far.

I think SF is the favorite vs Atlanta, but the Braves have some nice talent. Lots of strong young players, some solid vets and Bobby Cox equals a formidable opponent. Watching game 3 now in the ninth. Man, I thought the Braves had it wrapped up, but SF just took the lead.
Texas is strong this year, but I definitely didn't count the Rays out at all! TB is tough and have shown these past two games why they came out on top in the AL East.

The Phils are basically the run away favorites now, and looking damn good. Great job by Hamels, looks like he's in his 2008 form. Must be discouraging to face 3 aces, and a good offense. As long as that good offense starts to get going that is...

Well, given the four teams left...

I'm a Dodgers fan. Therefore, it is in the natural order of things that I hate the Giants and Yankees. And after the last couple of years, the Phillies aren't too likeable right now.

I do think a rematch would be cool, however! If it happens, it'll be the first since the Yankees/Dodgers in '77 & '78.

Dang, Cliff Lee is postseason monster.

A rematch against Yanks would be cool, but also Lee returning to Philly for World Series would be quite a story line. I just hope the Phils handle their favorite status.

Fist, only to a Dodger fan. One, they beat us the last two years in a row. Second, there was a pretty big dustup w/ Shane Victorino in the series two years ago. Or maybe in the regular season right before that.

Dodgers-Yankees, while not as relevant in the modern era, was one of the classic rivalries when both teams were still in New York. As were the rivalries with the Giants.

My wife is a Yankee fan... so I might have to end up cheering for them.
