The Glabrezu, smiling evilly (although, it's fairly unnatural for any other kind of smile to be on it's face), leads the way.....to the north....a secret door...a spiraling staircase up....out of a 2nd secret door....and before a large set of double doors. There are inscriptions upon them....invoking the Lord Of Shadows, and the Vile Lady primarily.

Reaching up and rubbing her earring of invisibility at the sight of the inscriptions to the L-rd of Shadows and The Vile Lady, the bard quietly whispers, "Barxonas!" without any intent of disappearing, and searches her knowledge for any clue as to the meaning of the inscriptions on the door.

...all the while hoping Kalindriel had a purpose in having these creatures lead them here.

We follow it somewhere. The undead things are walking with us.

I move closer to Annalysei as we walk. I try to keep her between me and all the monsters, but they're all around us. So, I just end up clinging to her elbow.

I cast Status on Annalysei, Led, Marrik, and Skyseeker.
I cast Shield of Faith on Annalysei.
I cast Shield of Faith on Led.
I cast Shield of Faith on Marrik.
I cast Bull's Strength on Annalysei.
I cast Bull's Strength on Led.
I cast Bull's Strength on Marrik.
I cast Bull's Strength on Skyseeker.
I cast Shield on myself and Sorchat.
I cast See Invisibility on Annalysei.

Then, I say to everyone, even though I'm kind of quiet, "The Bad Man is a spellcaster. I can try to counter his spells, so he can't use them against us. I might be too busy to heal people, though."

[I got a level too! I went from casting Dispel Magic three times, to casting it nine times. Once the fight starts, I hold action until the Bad Man goes, then I counter any spells he casts. If he doesn't cast a spell, I'll do something else. ]

Anna's face flashes confusion very briefly before she stills it back to an impassive mask. She doesn't really understand what just happened, but isn't about to open her mouth to ask.

Anna presses Sigrid's hand silently, in a gesture meant to comfort, and moves closer. She plans to stay and act as a shield for Sigrid because if whatever's waiting around the corner is a spellcaster, the group is going to need her and her ability to dispel magic.

Shortly after Marrik tries to scan beyond the door, Kalindriel grips the elven sword she has been carrying. Looking behind her at it, she says sternly, "Hush. You'll ruin the surprise."

Opening the same pouch on her belt as she drew marbles from, she draws forth a potion and drinks it.

Quietly in a singsong chant.

"Many foes, targets abound."

Like repeating a nursery rhyme.

"Seek the way, to go around."

Her voice going hollow.

"Hide yourself, do not be found."

Black eyes taking on a feral glint

"Dealt With Bad Man, goes in the ground."

Softly repeating

"Deal with the Bad Man. Deal with the Bad Man. Deal with the Bad Man. Deal with the Bad Man. "

Barely audible.

"For Kitties."

While all this is going on and Sigrid casts protections on everyone, the bard goes over to the warlock and whispers, "Someone needs to get a warning to the elves about what the Glabrezu told you regarding the wards and holes that have been opened in them with traps inside.

"Help me compose a brief message explaining what you were told while everyone organizes themselves."

[ooc]compose warning for the elves and set it adrift to find its way out of the keep to the elves waiting for a sign to enter via Whispering Wind.[/ooc]

After the message is sent off, the bard again says the name "Barxonas!," this time with the full intent of activating her earring as she vanishes out of sight.

Eyeing the larger X's (whatever they are... I just know they're X's on the map), Led lowers his cat body to the ground in front of the Paladin. "Marrik, would you like the honor of a personal bearer, to meet his Lordship?" He's not sure what was done to keep the glabrezu from attacking, but maybe using words like 'attack' would be ill advised at this moment.

The glabrezus knock open the massive doors, and burst into the room....

An opulent room..large, elaborately carved pillars...seating, even for audiences to audiences with a throne on a several-stage raised dais...upon which sits...The Bad Man!

a quartet of flesh golems lumber out!

A cleric, bearing the loathsome sigil of The Vile Lady stands near the dais.

A hulking figure, clearly a Frusvolk, clad in Full Plate, swings a spike chain while laughing...something otherworldly about this sadistic noises of glee...

The Bad Man says, "Know that it is The Witchblade who kills you!"

The cleric calls out in a musical soprano, "The grave yields!", a catechism among tar-Rozaa's followers.

The chortling ominous armor-clad form intones, "Flesh....." as the chain's links tinkle a wicked note.

DM Edit---due to some confusion as to time frames, while Sigrid was buffing everyone, Laurel wanted to Cat's Grace everyone from her wand. please add appropriate notes for yourselves reflecting this.

Anna gasps in horror as she recognizes the Death Knight. He is Ul-Nymbeskrii, the Bonestripper. He was part of a clan feud that went too far, and he gave his soul to evil, becoming a death knight. There were whispers of him in the castle, saying that he had become such an abomination that he actually ate children. His enjoyment of pain was spoken of in such hushed tones that even whispers caused a cold finger of fear to skitter down your spine.

Raising her voice so that the group can hear her, "Watch out for the death knight, he's got a Spiked Chain. It can flay you close up and at a distance. He's also got magic and enjoys making you suffer. We need to end him as soon as we can. I will stay in front of our casters as a shield."

Use glabrezu as a bottleneck, go north 4 spaces, NE 1 space to keep death knight and other bad guys from reaching our casters, if anything comes within range, attack, adding a Quickened Chill Touch.
