Importance of the Elohim (Spoilers here! Read at own risk)

There were a few other characters present at the end of the real-world portion of RoTE. I am not sure what to think. On one hand, SRD does not lightly create characters, so there may be something still coming in regard to them. On the other hand, it would feel like a bit of a cheat to reintroduce them in TLD as having been summoned to the Land when they have not been mentioned since the opening section of RoTE. For them to have survived and have a role in whatever (if any) closing real-world section of TLD there may be is reasonable; having them appear in the Land...no, I don't think so.

But wait... don't discount:

I think this whole thing will be explained, at least to some degree, in the final book.

In ROTE when Linden was translated, she ponders on the people involved at that time. Regarding the translation of the Sheriff and the other hostage, she says:

"they are not involved".

I don't think we'll be seeing them in the Land at all.
