A very smart man wrote something that I first read a long time ago, and it's had (from time to time) a profound effect on me. There is also love in the world. Except, when I see it in my head, the "L" is always capitalized; as in Love, if you ken the difference. I know what you're talking about. Probably most of us do. And I also know that when you're in that frame of mind, the sort of thing I'm saying tends to feel trite, and stupid, and maybe even condescending. Nevertheless, it's true. There is also Love in the world. There are also giggles, hugs, bubbles, fishes, laughter, trees, silence (the good kind), tiny hands, wrinkles like soft paper, and puppies.

Sometimes, when I'm in that mood, I just want to feel black for awhile. I don't want to be cheered up, or encouraged. But when I do want that again, (and so far I always have, eventually) it helps to remember that the world isn't all darkness and poison. There are a million tiny acts of kindness every day. A million tiny triumphs of light over dark that never make the news. And when I haven't seen anything good in awhile.....well, that's where Faith comes in.

Don't give up man. I won't tell you things will get better, but I will say that the world is as full of good as it is anything else.
