(I can imagine Spock saying "Indeed." in a tone of skepticism...)

Hint: If you guys wanna be in *my* club (or at least, be polite, as I was to you above <ahem>), then next weekend you'll wish me a happy Beltane.
Just a suggestion.

The God coming into manhood is an affirmation of life. Christ's resurrection is an affirmation of eternal life. There isn't a whole lot of difference. Well, at least not to me...but then I am me.

Nor he in yours, Ali!
Happy belated Easter to those who celebrate such. Indeed!
(Those who know my name know that I will say no more...If you are confused or curious, ask me at Elohimfest...)
Happy Pesach to those who are now finishing that period. Chag Sameach!
Happy Beltane this coming weekend to those who follow the old ways. Blessed Be!
Since my family circle embrace each of these traditions, I respectfully nod to each. What I believe is my own darn business...

Christ is risen!!!
People who know this to be true can respond appropriately. People who do not yet know this can take it as the communication of news. In any event, not of a 'religion', but of a fact - an all-important fact that transforms our lives from short ones doomed to end soon to ones destined for eternal life, the most important event in human history that is a fact today - we say "He IS risen", not "He HAS risen", or "He rose" - we use the present simple verb tense for a reason - because He is risen today.- now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.

I thought a hacker was systematically deleting this forum's meaningful debate and replacing everything with slogans.rusmeister wrote:Christ is risen!!!

Nope, not a hacker and not a debate thread, LF. What I said above.Lord Foul wrote:I thought a hacker was systematically deleting this forum's meaningful debate and replacing everything with slogans.rusmeister wrote:Christ is risen!!!

Well, I didn't really mean to start anything here. I said "happy Easter." That's as far as I'm willing to go.
Rus, you ought to have sussed out by now that *I'm* not after "just a religion" either. Orthodoxy doesn't do it for me, for the reasons I have enumerated in the past.
SD -- thanks!

I'm going to try to avoid the churlish here, but rus, if you don't mind, I'll take your announcement both as a) not new news and as b) a belief, rather than a fact.rusmeister wrote:Christ is risen!!!

Happy belated (insert name of preferred springtime celebration/commemoration/occasion/rite here), all.
