Depends on which post you are referring to, dANdee's post definitely was, it appeared in my LeGone Shames thread ( I believe around July 2010)

No, no, NO! That quote is from almost a century before Richard Nixon. It is from 1884, when William Tecumseh Sherman refused to run for President.

BTW, it was not Nixon's predecessor Lyndon Johnson, but Calvin Coolidge who put it more succinctly -- "I choose not to run" -- when he decided not to seek a second term. I nicknamed my first car Coolidge, just because it frequently chose not to run...

I wasn't saying the first quote was Nixon. The first applies to me in regards to the 2011 Watchy Awards, and the second applies to me for the 2010.

We'll discuss the Pedantic Award, but it's a shame we weren't all here when you, as a, what, late teen?, nicknamed your car Coolidge because it frequently chose not to run. You'd've blown away any competition for the Nerd of the Year Award.

Oh, you have no concept of what a nerd I was at that age. The glasses, the slide rule (yes, I'm that ancient!), the pocket protector...and the mind-full-of-useless-information that you would expect from someone who would nickname a car like that.

Only the useless information remains. The other outward signs have mostly been sloughed off.
