Bad news / Good news or Good news / Bad news

Tell something that's bad news.
and then add "but the good news is..."
The bad news is we broke like 2 cups in 2 or 3 days, one of which I kinda will miss.
The good news is my kiddo is learning - in practice - how to deal with the world's imperfections without flipping out. I'd sacrifice a lot of mugs for that!
Or tell something that's good news,
and then add the oh-so-typical ironic, "but the bad news is..."
The good news is that I think I saw my older son's sense of justice awakened a week back when he said, "Paul didn't get to hug dad, so it's right that he should get that!"
Of course, the bad news is that I let him, and now, every time that baby wakens to even half consciousness, he requests "hug..." "dad..." "wan'..." and tries to fight off his sleep.

The good news is I'm in a hotel traveling to Hawaii.

The bad news is I'm taking two children along who are asleep, so I am wide awake in a pitch black hotel room.

The good news is that Rob is going to Hawaii (after coming to Elohimfest last weekend).

The bad news is that he is apparently doing so by traveling in an entire hotel that is making the trip...a daunting feat of engineering, indeed!

The good news is that the weather here in the southern Arizona desert has warmed up enough to end the circulation of viruses.

The bad news is that it's now blazing hot every afternoon, even before spring has begun.
