Metal: Evolution

Post by Obi-Wan Nihilo »

Anyone else addicted to this anthropological dissection of the heavy metal movement? The thrash episode was un-freaking-believable. Hopefully they can keep it going for another season.

The catholic church is the largest pro-pedophillia group in the world, and every member of it is guilty of supporting the rape of children, the ensuing protection of the rapists, and the continuing suffering of the victims.

Totally agree sarge... I watched all the shows I'd missed tonight:

Pre-metal and Early US Metal were extremely interesting shows, I must say.

They won't let you watch episode 4, new wave of British Heavy Metal, for some reason. Thankfully I already saw it. And yes, I've been watching That Metal Show for a while now myself, and have experienced much the same thing in terms of a renewed interest in heavy music.

The Power Metal episode was pretty darn cool too, though some of the sub-genres ('Pirate Metal') are pretty close to silly. I wonder if they'll do black and death metal next season.

By the way, I'm assuming you've seen Metal: A Headbanger's Journey (the documentary that is the foundation for the TV show), but if you haven't, you really ought to.

saw it, loved it. Pirate metal does seem silly. I am also hoping he does an episode for all the other genres he mapped out.

I started watching "That Metal Show" a few months ago. It's very entertaining and informative! I discovered Buckcherry through the show and I'm a big fan now.

Thanks for the rec of Metal: Evolution. I'll try to catch re-runs.
