Murrin, that big meanie, didn't want us having fun in his game forum. So we'll go over here and have fun instead.

That was mainly a nudge for GK. Although Marianna could stand to chat some while we wait for him.

So a nudge for her, too.

<rant tone="bitchy">Woman... I'm current in every thread except Alina's, and that's only because she's asking about Lilith lore, and I don't freaking KNOW Lilith lore. I'm having to re-read an entire book just to make a post.

So, go say something to Sabine and Taduz.

And write a post about what Lucretia is dreaming during the day.

Then go do some other stuff with whatever other characters you have in other people's games. Or even... ask to join one of the existing other games.

And weren't you working on an online map for combat? How's that coming along, hrm?

Yeah... </rant>

Make something up.
That's what I did with just a little information off of wikipedia for Niggle's back story in Purgatory.

Yeah, but there's a whole actual book of Lilith lore made for the Vampire game. Can't ignore canon like that. Instead, I just went with the "I'm no theologian, but..." approach.

... but you did stay the night at Motel Hell.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

Well fudge.

Are you saying if I want to learn it I need to find that book and read it?
I like being the novice having the StoryTeller instruct me in the canon stuff. Makes it easier to react to situations in game, without worrying about how to make something work according to the rules.

Anyway, is that book in the archive?

It's in the archive, but the archive is closed. Too many random people on the Interwebs were chewing up my bandwidth downloading stuff, so I shut it down.

It's not necessary as a player that you read it. It's one of those few books that are written totally in-character... no rules or anything like that, just a collection of lore. It's a really good read, if you're into that kind of stuff.

However, in-game, the books like this are super-duper rare. Super bad-assed NPC scholar types might have heard of a copy of it, or may have a single portion carved into a clay tablet. But fledgling characters shouldn't know all this stuff right off the bat.

So, I'll feed you bits of it as we go. (Plus, this way I can make changes as needed for the story... or... you know... introduce mistakes by scholars, or lies by elders, etc.)
