DC Comics Presents was a comic book published by DC Comics from 1978 to 1986 (97 issues plus 4 annuals) featuring team-ups between Superman and a wide variety of other characters of the DC Universe. A recurring back-up feature "Whatever Happened to..." had stories revealing the status of various minor and little-used characters.

I had an almost complete run back when it first came out... now I am rebuilding my collection of this underrated series. seems odd that it took DC so long to create a Superman team-up book - with the Brave and the Bold, Marvel Team-Up and Marvel Two-In-One already existant at the time.

right now I have...

12, 29, 31, 32, 34-36, 46, 50, 59, 61, 62, 69, 70, 72, 73, 81, A1, A2, A3.

number 61 is one of my favorite stand alone stories ever.

'78, huh? I thought I bought #1 off the stands; now I know I did. If memory serves, Ross Andru drew it.


Nope, Garcia Lopez drew it.

Anyway, #'s 94-96 are the ones I want.....for now.

in addition to the team-ups, DCCP also ran a whatever happened to back-up feature.

I loved the idea and wish they had kept up with it, delving into some of their Quality, Fawcett and Charlton properties.

My favorite is #36, with Starman. It was my introduction to Mongul. Levitz and Starlin is a hell of a creative team.

Neither DC or Marvel have sn ongoing team up book.
Damn shame. Its an easy to feature characters the
Companies would like to test run for ongoing series.
Or to allow creators to do a story about their favorites.

I remember this series, I had many of the issues once upon a time. I was also a big fan of "The Brave & the Bold," the series dedicated to Batman team-ups.

B&B didn't start as a Batman team up book.
It settled on that after a while.

The same thing happened with the Spider-Man
Team up book.
