I think this one belongs here. If it were in flix, like my stalker suggests, then it would change the nature of this topic to include films of all genres, not just Sci-Fi. Unless you changes the title to "Best and Worst Sci-Fi Films", and then people would want it put here. Therefore, I will keep it here for now.

I really enjoyed a movie called Closet Land. It was pretty disturbing and rather frightening, considering there are only 2 people in the whole movie. Its been a long time since I've seen it. Alan Rickman is one of the 2 people in the movie, and he is one of my favorite actors.
It is probably a movie that people either love or hate.

Another movie I loved when I was a young one was The Last Starfighter, and Enemy Mine.

Star Trek the Motion Picture was an ok movie. Star Trek: The Wrath of Kahn was great. My mom cried and cried at the end of the wrath of Kahn. It was wierd how much my mom was affected by that ending. I've never seen that happen to her before, she was really really sad for a long time.
Spoiler
Spoc was her favorite character out of any book or movie and to see him die just shocked her beyond belief.
I also liked Kubrick's: Eyes Wide Shut. It was a deep movie and most people I've talked to about it just thought it was a skin flick.

worst movie.... Dungeons and Dragons the movie was pretty dreadfull. I thought the Batman movies were done fairly poorly, the ones Tim Burton did weren't that bad but the last few especially Batman and Robin were just atrocious. The director for that one needs an ass kicking. to mess up a dark hero like that.

I completely agree with Dungeons and Dragons. What a nightmare. I liked the first Batman, hated the second, found the third mildy enteraining and hated the fourth. :D Beowulf with Christopher Lambert is still the worst film I've seen in a very long time.

Druids with Christopher Lambert is the worst I've seen in a long time.

The original Highlander was such a great film - Lambert has been trying and failing to duplicate that feat ever since.

I haven't seen Druids, Roland. After suffering through Beowulf and your ringing endorsment I don't think I'll be viewing it any time soon. I liked Lambert in Greystoke, Highlander I and to a lesser extent in Fortress. I don't know what the man is thinking with some of these choices.

I see they're doing a sequal to Starship Troopers. I want to beat the rush to vote it "Worst Ever!".

Since the Starship Troopers sequel is not directed by Paul Verhoeven you may like it more than the original.

That settles it! This film sucks so bad it didn't make the theatre cut!

The only way to save Catwoman is to make it a pr0n flick. The costume has to stay off the entire film.

If Rebecca Romijn-Stamos can run around in nearly nothing as Mystique then Halle should be able to take on the bad guys in the buff.

I like this idea, especially if Halle Berry is in the starring role....

I've got a new nominee for Worst Film: My Boss' Daughter.

God, what a steaming pile of crap that was. The wife and I rented it on Friday along with a few other flicks (Gothika, Matchstick Men and Lost In Translation).

Mind you, we typically like stupid funny movies but this got so dumb we stopped watching after 45 minutes. I think my IQ dropped about 20 points while watching it, and had I actually stayed through to the bitter end, I think my brains would have started oozing out of my ears. :x

Gothika and Matchstick Men were both excellent, however. We're going to watch Lost In Translation tonight and we also borrowed a bunch of flicks from the wife's parents so we've got entertainment lined up for the rest of the week :D

The worst film ever had Sean Connery in it, but I dont remember its name... Looked like it was filmed in the 70's, and Connery was a slave to these weird guys (and gals) with mind powers who lived in a bubble world.....

Anyone?

Yep, that be Zardoz. I caught it on late night TV a year ago. I was compelled to watch it because it was so WEIRD. The film should have been titled Weirdoz. Hey, wait a minute! Weird Oz!

I have trouble making sense of Zardoz, too. If I had to throw out a guess, maybe it's a Big Statement about the inherent violence of man. Er, just don't ask me to back that up. I think this movie might be best experienced while on drugs. Or alcohol. Both? 8O

I don't know if this was the first post-James Bond film that Sean Connery did. If it was, wow, he sure must have alienated his audience, eh?
