Did you know the actor who played the baddy from Howard the Duck - Jeffrey Jones - was busted for having child porn on his computer earlier this year? I think being friends with Pee Wee Herman sorta tipped the cops off.

Most fav movie ever? I don't even have to think about it -- Excalibur, hands down. I've seen this movie so many times that I can quote the dialogue almost word for word throughout the entire movie. LOL I should be ashamed of that, but strangely I'm not! LOL

I want to say that LotR movies are now my alltime favs, but I've been quoting Excalibur as my fav for so long that the habit persisits. Besides I can watch Excalibur in a little over 2 hours, LotR will be close to, if not over 12 hours by the time their done. Not a one sit movie. But my god its incredible. So many scenes were like Peter Jackson reached into my mind and plucked them straight out. Especially Rivendale. But I shouldn't keep going on LotR or I won't stop. LOL

Worst movie ever? Hmmmm..... Stephen King's Thinner would have to rank up there. Great book, God Awful movie. Gosh, there are so many bad movies out there I can't focus in on any one! LOL

Take care,
Matthew

I'm not that big a fan of Excalibur myself. Okay film, but doesn't really thrill me. I'm hoping this summer's King Arthur will become my definitive movie in that sub-genre.

My all-time worst - probably Battlefield Earth. Or Doc Savage. Both took something I loved and ruined it on the big screen.

Speaking of Excaliber, I just have to brag on my kid.....

Excaliber was on the other night, and we let him watch (parts of 8O ) it for awhile before he had to go to bed. He was really interested in the Merlin character and asked who he was. So I told him, and asked him if he knew who King Arthur was. He looked at me like I was crazy and said "Sure, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table - from Camelot."

The he started to sing.....

"We're knights of the round table
we dance when'er we're able....."

He's so COOL! :haha: :haha: :haha: 8)

LOL! You're kid IS cool! Favorite movie of all time? Toughie! Ties between M.P. Quest for the Holy Grail, Fight Club, or the original Star Wars Trilogy...

The Worst? Battlefield Earth, Gigli, and perhaps Jet Li's The One.

Total Recall, is frightful in every way and should come with a govt warning attached. I reckon it makes Power Rangers look like high art-and yes I have watched it all the way through. I wasn't harmed in the line of dutythough!

I'm afraid I agree with edinburghemma about Total Recall: it was a very repulsive movie. The premise had great potential, but director Paul Voerhoven seemed more interested in grossing out the viewer with his brand of sadistic violence than in telling a good story. Voerhoven struck a good balance in Robocop, but with Total Recall I thought he just went off the deep end.

Total Recall--repulsive?! I guess you guys have never seen Irréversible, starring Monica Bellucci. It makes Requiem for a Dream look like Winnie the Pooh. Watch at your own risk. Honestly. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

Uh-oh, you've intrigued me, Lord Foul. Looked up Irreversible on imdb.com, and it seems like a very compelling movie. By calling Total Recall "repulsive" I was thinking in terms of the exaggerated grossness of everything. I didn't think it was cool; it was just Voerhoven getting in his fetishist kicks at the expense of the audience.

I too am intrigued, shall now google. Oh, btw, I really loved Requiem for a Dream. It was quite beautiful in it's horror, sad and wrought. Is Irreversible a video nasty then?

Irreversible is kinda like Requiem for a Dream, in that it has the capacity to leave the normal viewer extremely disturbed or feeling spent. Whereas Requiem accomplishes its message by intimately destroying the lives of its various characters, Irreversible does it using explicit, extreme violence.
