Fight thread!

Post by Horrim Carabal »

There doesn't seem to be a thread for this sort of immature, fanboyish, silly speculation - so I thought I'd better create one!

Who wins the following battles and why!

1) A forestal, standing on his home turf, vs an Elohim.

2) The Viles vs the Insequent (race vs race).

3) The entire Council of Lords vs three Giant-Ravers with Illearth flakes.

4) A fire-lion vs a skurj.

5) Kasreyn vs the Vizard.

1) Depends when. We already know what happens when they're brand new and full strength (the Forestal wins). May be the Forestals also win, since the Elohim are bound to serve Earthpower in a sense.

2) Hmm. The Insequent would never work together, so the Vile have a good shot at taking them on one by one.

3) Easy. The Giant-Ravers win. There isn't even a contest here.

4) The loser: Everything flammable in a five mile radius.

5) Hmm. I think probably the Vizard, since his powers are innate, while Kasreyn got his through learning and shady deals.

hmm...interesting idea.

Agreed.

Throw in High Lord Elena leading the Council with the Staff of Law?

1. Elohim

2. Viles

3. Agree with above, no contest. The entire council consisting of every Lord that ever served, including Kevin with the Staff of Law, couldn't stand against 3 Giant Ravers with 3 chunks of the Illearth Stone.

4. Too close to call. I think we're going to see this battle in TLD.

5. Kasreyn.

There is at least one in the Mallory's, though not only for the Chrons - for any characters.

1. On his home turf... I'd rather go for the forestal, the forest is definitely a forestal's both battleground and weapon of choice) Though maybe I just I don't like the Elohim much, so :P to them.

2. Murrin, a good thought, though I think in such a situation at least much of them could cooperate to an extent. Also, there are things the Harrow was capable of - I'd rather say the Insequent.

3. The Giant-Ravers look likely to win, "Throw in High Lord Elena leading the Council with the Staff of Law?" won't help much against three Illearth Stone pieces, but somehow doesn't feel right, I think Lord Mhoram could manage something.

4. More like fire-lions. The skurj could be even defeated by rain after all. Doesn't feel like the glorious power of the fire-lions.

5. With a croyel Kasreyn looks like the more likely winner, actually, nope, the croyel looks like the more likely winner

Will you suggest more fights?)

Really? REALLY?

My least favorite character in the 2nd Chrons. I'd rather read 10 books about Linden than a chapter on HT.

[pedant]
Hile Troy (qua Hile Troy) was only in the First Chronicles, specifically The Illearth War. The forestal formerly known as Hile Troy did figure in the Second Chronicles, but that is arguably a different character...sort of.

only because he had to fail to prove TC was right. Troy could never escape the fate written for him. but he tried. he acted. TC howled against his fate. he had the most powerful weapon in the land and he refused to use it. Troy should hav etaken the ring and destroyed Foul...

Yeah I meant "First Chronicles".

You're right, everything you said is true. And I'd love to read an alternate version of the story where Troy gets the ring.

BUT...

Hile Troy is still the most annoying character ever written in the Chrons. Just reading his dialogue makes me want to give him an uppercut.

TC is the single most whiny, petulant, unpleasant character ever created.

looks like we will have agree to disagree.

Troy just didn't get it - it wasn't his story, he wasn't the hero, he was a just a bit player.

The problem with Troy was that the man was an optimist living in a land under the threat of a despiser. But I liked the character contrasts he brought into the story.
