I propose:
  • - Most Entertaining Thread
The main reason for this is that I want to be able to nominate this thread by the Sarge.

How very postmodern of you.
I like it. I'll second it.

was given...but no one can know WHO got nor WHY except the DW. [Director of Watchies].

Just so long as everyone is aware that winning that award makes you ineligible to win it.

So you win by not winning? Which means you won. Right?

It means every person who is unlikely to win a different Watchy is in a perpetual state of both winning and not-winning the "least likely to win" award.

I'd like to expand on one of Effael's suggestions and propose...

Most thought-provoking Watcher.
Newsflash: the word "irony" doesn't mean "a bit like iron"

I would like to veto the GT game suggestions.

There's only been one game running in 2013, and the characters for HoG haven't really made any appearances.

how can that have not already been a category???
I know once upon a time I was nominated for such...I don't recall if I won it or not...and I'm pretty sure you, u. were once nominated for it [did you win? I don't recall? I think I voted for you...but it might have been sheep [where IS sheep, anyway?] or peter year...

anyway, third [just for fun].

And, anyway, reason I came here today...
proposed:
Most Inspirational [objective]...the watcher who made you run off and check facts/data/sources the most [heh...reasonable chance, if the voter is honest, they'll be voting for someone they really disagree with a lot.]
[[[that could perhaps be a person or thread?? does it overlap some other ones too much??]]]

Most Inspirational [subjective]...this one is clearer than the one above.
The Watcher who made you ask yourself personal identity questions most often.

Anyway, I said proposed not suggested cuz they might need some tightening/reworking to make sense. I like my second as is. The first...well, smack it about if you feel like it.

Short answer: Our gracious moderator seems to be approaching Watchies as a start-from-zero proposition this year, now that her Watchy co-mod has stepped away from the Watch. This is not a rejection of any of the excellent historic categories for Watchies...she just wants to have them (as well as any new ones) grass-roots suggested and seconded. Makes sense in a way, as it keeps the list to those categories where people presumably have candidates in mind and prevents having categories where nobody gets nominated.

And that's the short answer!

I second the most inspirational watcher - maybe subjective or objective, but with reasons why you think they're inspirational...

especially since, though I appreciate SD taking the time to post an answer, what I MEANT was "Wow, I can't believe no one thought to suggest that one like 50 posts ago!"

*sigh*

Can Furls be nominated for such?
Stephen's thread still inspires me upon rereads...

...most likely not. This is for calendar year 2013.

*sigh*
