Well, someone's got to keep it going right?
And he stuck to his promise, some 10+ pages in 2013 version, and no posts from Mr Broken. I only wonder how he's taking the Gordon suspension (looming at this point) and Manziel drafting (and subsequent clarification from GM that he'll be the backup).

Some good draft picks for the Falcons, everyone back from injury and a weak schedule tell me the 'Birds' will be in the playoffs this year. I am hopeful that a year with only one second to throw will make this year GREAT for Matt and the boys.

I'm curious about year 2 of Chip Kelly. We'll see.
Want to see how Clowney and Watt are together. That could be almost unfair, if Clowney really is that good. Of course, who's throwing the ball (and I saw headline about Andre Johnson saying he's not sure he wants to stick around).

Football season is almost here!!! My wife and I are heading up to Flowery Branch to watch a few hours of training camp for the Falcons. We are also planning on going to an away game this year.... We are thinking....... drum roll..... Baltimore Ravens!!! I think thats Cails stomping grounds.

Went to Falcons Training camp yesterday. The lines (offense and defense) have been beefed up considerably. They drafted well and did some good free agency signing. They still have 13 million in cap space.. I would like to see them pick up a pass rusher....
My wife and I went ahead and purchased our tickets and flight for the Baltimore game. So now we are locked in.

So what did everyone see from Game 1 of preseason for their teams?
Atlanta has alot of potential this year... the last few years, no running game... this year..... Note the two VERY large linebackers doing syncronized hand motions toward the goal on the 74 yard run to the goal line
No pass rush last year.......but this year... Shembo blows through the line for a sack...

2nd game of pre-season and the Falcons were astoundingly bad in all three phases. Julio looked good for the three of four plays they let him play. Sam Baker got beat multiple times on the line and went out, possibly for the year. Our second string and third string just looked lost..... There were glimmers of what could be, so even though it was a monumental trouncing, it is still pre-season.

Yep Sam is out.... they changed the O-line around. Julio is back in the game and the Falcons looked much better by game 3 and dominated the field...at least while the 1st stringers were in.
First game for the Falcons will tell the tale since its against the Saints and they look good this year as well. At least on paper.
First game of the year should be worth watching. Packers vs Seahawks.

First game is this Thursday... Green Bay vs Seattle. Any predictions???
I pick Green Bay to win. The 'hawks' will get penalized on the defense a lot due to enforcement of new rules. Of course its the first game so who knows. Each year is different for each team... that being said:
GB 27
Seattle 21

Yes, SB, every year is different...but one thing that is consistent is that not many teams manage to beat the Hawks when the game is played at Centurylink Field. The CLink and the 12s are not an insurmountable advantage, but they do tip the scales a bit.
Respectfully differing from your prediction.
Go Hawks!

I have concerns for GB dead center of both offense and defense.
OTOH, wide-view---and I might have a rosy tint seeing potential not proven performance---I see both offense and defense [particularly ground on offense, pass rush and coverage on defense] improved for GB.
So, after all that blather...
GB 24
Seattle 21...no. 17. Might as well roll the dice on the Matthews/Peppers combo playing hot.

The Falcons are back!!! In what was supposed to be a blowout due to improvements in what last year was a Saints top 4 NFL defense, Matt Ryan threw over 450 yards, and the Falcons ran another 180 yards or so. Won in OT in a nail biter sending the Saints home with an 'L'.
The Bengals also looked better than expected, sending the Ravens home with an 'L'.
The Patriots looked lost but Miami looked pretty good.
Looks like a good season brewing!!!

Week 3 - Broncos were not able to beat the Seahawks in a rematch but it was closer.
SF needs to hit their stride soon if they want to be in the playoffs.
Bengals are showing that they might be the best team to challenge the Seahawks this year. (even though the Chargers beat them last week)
Falcons trounced the lowely Bucs. 6th worst trashing of an NFL team in history.
