hold your astonished applause people. I am honestly stunned that it has actually happened as well.

for those who don't know - some brief history.

I joined the Watch in July of 2004. initially to argue that Hile Troy is the real hero of the Land. but that didn't last long. I discovered the two sides of that same coin, Mallory's and the Think Tank.

Mallory's proved a problem for what many so as my spamming of the boards with nonsense games and a fierce dedication to amassing large quantities of posts.

the Tank got me banned for a bit. seems some people didn't cotton to my opinions and my less than kind way of arguing. well a couple people in particular.

this led to conjecture as to if I posted under my wife's handle. yes and no is the answer to that. you decide which posts were real and which were Memorex.

then my decision to attend the E-Fest of 2011 caused some problems behind the scenes. some didn't want me there fearing some scenic drama.

but I had two main champions. Lucimay and Jenn. thank you ladies!

I attended with my wife and many people (maybe not all) saw that I wasn't that bad. hearts and minds were won that week.

and then BBF happened. and I think that helped change some minds as well. I warned everyone it would end in disaster. I was attacked by the said rogue (whatever his true identity.) things were revealed. some that I already knew. some I had already confronted. I think I handled the incident with as much grace as I could muster.

and then I finally broke the Mods down and they handed me a title. dAN doesn't need a co-moderator, let's be honest there.

but it is an honor and a lesson. I am sure the hope is that I continue in my more mellow manner. (I am aware that I can be de-modded.)

I hope to prove an asset to the Watch and pledge to be the best dang mod I can be. Thank you for this, and I hope to not let you all down.

I thank whoever argued for me. I suspect other than Luci and Jenn ... Avatar and dAN? SD and John Duncan? whoever it was, thank you.

Congrats, Sarge!

This is a well-deserved elevation! You were one of my first welcomers on the Watch and you helped set the tone of openess and inclusion that has led to my ever-increasing involvement here. I would like to thank you once more for that. I got to know you better in through being involved in Mallory's, and then having the great pleasure of meeting you and Mrs. Null at the E'Fest this year.

You are a credit to the Watch and will no doubt be an excellent mod. I just hope that it doesn't detract from you Mallory's activity
