three questions:

#1 How can I get copies of the old anthologies?

#2 Is there any progress on the new anthology?

#3 if the answer to #2 is no, how can I help?

1. The older anthologies are out of print. We have considered combining the original manuscripts into 1 volume and making them available through a new publisher but no progress has been made in well over a year.

2. Whilst beginning the editing process for the combined volume we considered adding some new material as a bonus but that idea evaporated with the rest of our plans. There hasn't been much interest in a New anology book.

3. If anyone would like to carry on with the anthology project I would be happy to provide all of the existing material and help in any way I can.

Are the challenges of physical publishing a factor? If so, there are now alternatives, which deer, ali, and other Watchers who are e-authors may be able to contribute the expertise to take this the last mile to availability.

That hasn't been a problem in the past. We've used LuLu vanity press and it wasn't difficult to actually publish the books.

Where we've had issues more recently is that we've lost our core group of writers and editors. I also don't have the free time I once had and I am not very experienced or adept at editing so it's been a chore working on this on my own. As I said in a previous post I believe the project would be better served in the hands of other Watchers

Is the Old Anthology available in electronic format? Word doc, pdf, anything?

If so, publishing on Smashwords (where my free books go to die) is easy enough. Seeing as we're all here on our compies, I would think we could at least put it out there electronically.

If there are some new stories to add, we could make it very simple and say each contributor can choose their ONE very best piece and we can add it-- but formatting must be clean-copy, so as to make it easy for whoever finalizes the published anthology.

Whaddya think?
