2017 NFL Whipping Post

Post by SoulBiter »

Hey!!! Its Football season again!!!!!

I'm hoping for another good year for the Falcons.

New Stadium.
Didnt lose pieces on offense
Gained a few pieces on Defesne (Dontarie Poe looks to be a great add)
Young talented and fast Defense with a top 5 offense could mean another run at the big trophy.

Game on!!!

I'm glad my team didn't blow a late third quarter 28 to 3 lead in the Superbowl last year. I might get the idea that such a traumatic experience would have a negative effect on the team.

Seriously, I'm guessing if the Falcons have similar success this year they'll be able to shake off what happened last year and move forward. Its just really hard to repeat success like that. I know the Bucs will probably be better this year and give the Falcons even more of a fight than they did before.

Good points!!!!

I made peace with the SB so its all good. Last year the Falcons lost their season opener to the Bucs. They looked horrible. If you told me then, that the Falcons would go to the SB, I would have asked you for some of whatever you were smoking.

Its always a longshot to go to the sb.. not that it wouldn't be nice to do that again (except for the collapse). But a good 11 to 13 win year and a run through the playoffs would be good. Im actually looking forward to when the NFC south are again the division that everyone doesn't want to play

Jax is staying with Bortles again.

Is he gonna make the step up this year to being the QB Jax has hoped he would be?

So in an upset KC trounced NE in Foxboro.

As a Falcon fan I have to say I was happy to see this. Mostly because of all the in your face SB51 crap that was being portrayed there.
"Their pregame party and the unveiling of their new banner. But the postings on the Gillette Stadium scoreboards that read "ATL 28 NE 3" and "2:12 3RD QTR" seemed a bit overdone for a franchise that never dances in yesterday's confetti. So did the five oversized Lombardi Trophies that were rolled onto the field"
Before the game the Football insiders had them marked to go 8-0 through the first half of the season and only to drop 1 to 2 game overall. Heck I was wondering why they dont just give them the SB52 Lombardi and get it over with.

So for one night. I was a KC fan and I cheered them all the way to the big victory!!!!

Next week is also Win-Win for me as the Pats face the Saints. If the Pats win, then that puts the Saints one more game out of competition. If the Saints win, well aint that special. The Pats arent going to have that magical season that the pundits had them marked for.

I hope so, but I wouldn't put money on it. I see a QB pick for next year.

Wow... well Jax steamrolled the Texans.... Rams steamholled the Colts, Baltimore steamrolled Cinci

The Falcons didnt look as good as I was hoping but they weren't horrible either. You can definitely tell its week 1.

The Seahawks were going to be crowned the darling of the NFC. GB seems to have changed that.

Week 1 is in the books.

I got 11 correct, 4 wrong, 1 game wasn't played due to Irma.

The Saints got smoked last night. Don't let the final score fool you, the vikings took a knee when they could have scored again. It was a thing of beauty to watch the Vikings run the ball down their throats.

GB looked pretty good last week, I have to say, I'm a bit worried they will Gobsmack the Falcons playing in the first regular season home game at Mercedes Benz Stadium to make up for that thrashing we gave them in the NFC Championship game last year.

I totally understand.

Even back in the early to mid 90s when the Bucs were...well...ass...I would have still picked them to win against the Bears even though we still sarcastically call this a home game for the Bears with all of the transplants still unabashedly supporting Chicago. :-)

I don't think the ATL GB game will be an easy victory for either side but Aaron Rogers still has the midas touch, at least for a while longer.
Seems every quarterback I have historically given a crap about will retire in the next couple of years. We have Jameis and he's still a kid so that will make up for some of it. I guess I have to start paying attention to rookies.

Thursday night football... what a bore-fest

Final score 13 - 9 Texans.

Both teams looked inept. The Bengals offense was so bad. This morning they fired their OC. They have to do something. Just ineffective. Dalton threw balls away when he didn't need to, and kept over throwing his receivers.

Man, I hope to not see many games like that.

9 right this week.

Not great so far. :-)

Some really terrible football being played for week two of the NFL.

Hopefully things will improve for week 3.
