A bit late, but Happy New Year everyone on the Watch. Over Christmas I re-read all the Covenant books. Consequently I couldn't knit anything with a pattern (as I can't get the audio versions) so had to make hats and easy stuff. Gave about 30 hats to the St Barnabus charity shop in the end. St Barnabus is an end of life care hospital which runs purely on donations.

On 6th January C and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. I'll say no more as those of you who are connected with me on FB will be sick of hearing about it already

Also just before Christmas I collected 20 copies of a book I'd had printed for descendants of my grandfather. I've finally got all the letters that he sent back from South Africa between 1901 and 1902 into print along with a bit of family history. There are 22 letters altogether and I managed to fill 36 pages including many photos and illustrations. The letters have been deposited at the National Army Museum in London for some years but I was able to get digital copies from them so that I could do the transcriptions.

I've managed to sell my piano at last and the back was surprisingly free of damp, although the wall behind it will need replastering. I now need to get everything else out of the room so that we can start dealing with the rising damp. The house was built between 1911 and 1921 - it appears on the 1921 census but not on the 1911. The deeds are unhelpful when it comes to when the house was actually built but the land was sold in 1898. Of course we have no damp course and no cavity wall.

And that's all my news for the present.

Sarge and Julie - get well soon! I've managed to avoid getting covid so far, but then I rarely go out.
I am playing all the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!

Thanks Fist. My cousin Peter is very pleased with his 4 copies (he has 3 sons). Peter is 17 years older than me and actually lived next door to our grandfather for all his life until he joined the RAF, so I'm particularly pleased with his reaction.

Well great to catch up on the news here ~ happy new year io ~ sorry to hear of your troubled Null ♥ hope for speedy recoveries all ♥

Well I’m just clawing my way back into a more relaxed (hopefully) period … Ive been sooo busy caring for animals and their habitats of all sizes and shapes ~ it’s been great hit sooo busy haven’t had too much spare time to scratch myself.

On Friday Trev drops me to my daughters where I will spend a few long anticipated days in their newly built first home. Yup they have their first home ~ AND I’m sooo excited for my so. and his family they too have just settled on their first home. So excited for them as they got a great property for a pretty awesome price in the are they sooo needed to be in as the school has a deaf centre ~ which my little granddaughter will attend.

My granddaughter is booked in for surgery in Feb and I hope to go down and support them with her transitioning to cochlear implants.

I just adore my granbabies and always look so much forward to seeing them and spending time with them.

So looking forward to all of it.

I’ll try pop by more regularly… as things/work grinds down ~ today was the end of the xmas holiday jobs … and my little Gracie couldnt be happier to ge an only child again lol 😂 and my cats are thrilled not to have canine interlopers stealing their everything lol 😂

SD's and Dam-sel's son has a cochlear implant. I've heard some very touching stories. I'm interested to hear if she is having both sides done.

She is having both sides done and my son just informed me that her surgery has been AGAIN delayed ~ how old was SDs son when he had the surgery and how did it go for him.

Riley is 5 and they really weren’t keen to do the surgery saying she was too old for it to be useful.

Now we wait to see when her surgery is rescheduled for 🙄🤦♀ … we’ve been bracing for the procedure to be fine as we know it’s going to be quite an adjustment for Riley ~ and the grandmas were flying to Melbs to tag team ~ with my dil’s mum there this month & me supposedly in March but my flights have been changed to April now but the dil mum found out after she was entoute.

Dam-et was implanted in 1994 at about 15 months. He was one of the first three children implanted in the US, with a specialist from the UK doing all three children on the same day.

It has worked very well for him.

Morning all. :D Yes, I am still alive.

Apologies for my extended absence, unfortunately my living situation became a bit precarious in early Jan, which has left me frantically scrambling for alternative accommodation ever since, and consequently all my spare time has been spent scrutinising property listings, dealing with estate agents, and going to view places.

I've now found a very nice place, (unfortunately my current rent is ridiculously low, so it feels extremely expensive) and just had my application approved yesterday. Just waiting to sign the lease and pay the deposit.

That means that the rest of this month is going to be taken up arranging the move etc. but I should be in the new place by the 1st of March, and everything should be back to normal within a week or so of that.

As soon as that's done, I will be able to go back to harassing Jay, as Vain and I are waiting on some stuff from him to finalise the board update.

I am still on the Discord daily (for work) so can always be reached there, (if you don't have an account and want to message me, ask HLT or WF or SD).

Anyway, that's the story, I'll be back. ;)
