Pavlov's Dog

Post by peter »

For some reason this band, very much in the Rush style of sound, never attracted any notice in the UK, but I think they were exceptional and well deserve a retrospective.

Start by giving the excellent Sound of the Bells album a listen and take it from there. The track Fast Gun is probably my favourite, but I seriously don't think there is a bad track on the album. The lead singer has a slightly falsetto edge to his voice that far from being unpleasant to listen to is just the right side of being overdone, an unusual and striking sound. The band specialise in melodic songs of haunting timbre, tunes that find the mark quickly and stay with you once learned.

If you don't know the band check them out - you won't regret it.

The truth is a Lion and does not need protection. Once free it will look after itself.

'Have we not served you well'
'Of course - you know you have.'
'Then let it end.'
