A miser /ˈmaɪzər/ is a person
who is reluctant to spend,
sometimes to the point of
forgoing even basic comforts
and some necessities, in order
to hoard money or other such
possessions. Although the word
is sometimes used loosely to
characterise anyone who is mean
with their money, if such behaviour
is not accompanied by taking
delight in what is saved, it is not
properly miserly. Heat miser?

Onyx primarily refers to the
parallel banded variety of
chalcedony, a silicate mineral.

Agate and onyx are both
varieties of layered chalcedony
that differ only in the form of
the bands: agate has curved
bands and onyx has parallel
bands. Onyx is black in color.

The colors of its bands range
from black to almost every color.
Commonly, specimens of onyx
contain bands of black and/or
white. Onyx, as a descriptive
term, has also been applied to
parallel banded varieties of
alabaster, marble, calcite,
obsidian and opal, and so
misleadingly to materials with
contorted banding, such as
"Cave Onyx" and "Mexican Onyx.

Rutabaga (/ˌrutəˈbeɪɡə/;
North American English)
or swede (British English
and some Commonwealth
English) is a root vegetable,
a form of Brassica napus
(which also includes rapeseed).
Other names include Swedish
turnip, neep (Scots), and turnip
(Scottish and Canadian English,
Irish English and Manx English).
However, elsewhere the name
"turnip" usually refers to the
related white turnip. The species
Brassica napus originated as a
 hybrid between the cabbage
 (Brassica oleracea) and the
 turnip (Brassica rapa). Rutabaga
roots are eaten as human food
in a variety of ways, and the
leaves can be eaten as a leaf
vegetable. The roots and tops
are also used for livestock, either
fed directly in the winter or foraged
in the field during the other seasons.
Scotland, Northern and Western
England, Wales, the Isle of Man and
Ireland had a tradition of carving
the roots into lanterns at Halloween.

Vermilion (sometimes vermillion)
is a color, color family, and pigment
most often made, since antiquity
until the 19th century, from the
powdered mineral cinnabar
(a form of mercury sulfide, which is toxic)
and its corresponding color. It is very
often synonymous with red orange,
which often takes a modern form just
11% brighter (at full brightness).

Yorick

Yorick is a character in
William Shakespeare's
play Hamlet. He is the
dead court jester whose
skull is exhumed by the
First Gravedigger in Act 5,
Scene 1, of the play. The
sight of Yorick's skull then
evokes a reminiscence by
Prince Hamlet of the man,
who apparently played a
role during Hamlet's upbringing:

Aspic or meat jelly (/ˈæspɪk/)
is a savory gelatin made with
a meat stock or broth, set in a
mold to encase other ingredients.

These often include pieces of meat,
seafood, vegetable, or eggs. Aspic
is also sometimes referred to as aspic
gelée or aspic jelly. In its simplest form,
aspic is essentially a gelatinous version
of conventional soup.

Broccoli-gnawing will do in a pinch when you must masticate roughage, but you'll still find yourself missing the kale.
