Hello, MASSIVE Star Wars fan and couldn't agree more with aTOMiC.
The Mandalorian is the best Star Wars since 1983. It is brilliant.
I think the sequel films look great but are directorial train wrecks. I am trying to erase them from my memory.
Been doing a life size baby Yoda sculpture but it didn't go as well as I hoped but know where I went wrong... the head, body, arms and, etc.. :-x  A work in progress.

The problem I always had with
Star Wars? The characters I found
The most fascinating were either
Killed [Boba Fett, Darth Maul] or
Were regulated to the bzckground.
I enjoyed two of the novels. One
Was about the bounty hunters and
The other was about they beings at
The cantina.

I couldn't agree more, the 'Tales of/from ....' book series was great and the Bounty Hunters one is my fave Star Wars book.
You may enjoy 'From a certain point of view' 2018 which is also full of back stories... ones that are canon as the Tales series is not anymore. Not read it myself yet but I have a copy.

As for Boba Fett, he died well before Lucas realised he was popular and The Mandalorian should have been Boba. One of my favorites also.

I also really like Gina Carano: Cara Dune.
She's a total badass and a good actress.

It is funny that I knew her from MMA but just did not make the connection until weeks after her appearance.

For those of you singing the praises of this show, who has seen the animated series Rebels? As bland as some of the episodes are (sadly the series is wildly inconsistent), the good are the best things in the name of Star Wars in my opinion. Some VERY powerful moments in that series, and while the Mandalorian has been great fun made all the better with being live action, and they still have a ways to go to tell a coherent story, I'd highly recommend watching Rebels. I watched the first two seasons of Rebels before I started watching Clone Wars, and some of the things in Rebels is made all the more powerful having watched the series in order (like who the hell is Ahsoka?), it was amazing. Can anyone with Disney+ tell me if Clone Wars and Rebels are both on streaming?
I definitely would not recommend Resistance. That turned out to mostly be a pointless nothing burger with one good moment in it.

I'm about 4 episodes into this Mandalorian thing. Yeah, it's enjoyable. But it usn't impressive. It definitely feels like a TV series - in fact, it feels like a 70's TV series like The Hulk or Kung Fu. A bad-ass guy wandering into one-episode situations, only enough over-arching plot to justify thinking he's a cool bad-ass. That being said, all the nods to the original Tatooine scenes are kinda fun.

Season 2 has been absolutely amazing!
Spoiler
At last, we finally got the Luke Skywalker we wanted to see.

I wonder how good the show will be without Baby Yoda. I really think at some point Djin will reunite with him.

Loved the sneak peak at "The Book of Boba Fett! It's going to be interesting to see how he rule the underworld.

Originally read this post on my phone and its a real pain to unspoiler the text.
I have finally had a chance to call up this post on my laptop and...

I couldn't agree more. :D

As we close the second season it isn't lost on me that there soooo much Star Wars appearing in this series it's bursting at the seams and its fast becoming the definition of new Star Wars for me. I didn't absolutely hate the Sequel Trilogy (except maybe the Last Jedi) but I didn't love it either. THIS IS POD RACING...er...I mean...THIS IS STAR WARS. .

No one thought the ending
Spoiler
sucked? I mean, it was utter deus ex machina in the form of a really badly-done CGI character.

Star Wars generates a lot of it's good will through fan service. I know there are many who prefer to view Star Wars through the prism of serious science fiction, consuming novels, games and animated series to explore the farthest reaches of its universe and history. But there is a much larger segment of the viewing audience that eats moments like what happened in the final episode of season 2 like super sweetened candy.

I acknowledge that the aspect you mentioned could have been handled better but that didn't diminish the emotional impact of the moment for some.

Fan fiction my way. I call this drink "the Mandalorian"

3 cl Wodka
1 cl woodruff sirup
dash of lime juice
Shake with ice cubes, strain into cocktail glass.
A dash of tonic as filler.

Thomas Covenant said "There's only one way to hurt a man. Give him back something broken."
Episodes 7 through 9 is the Sunbane of the Star Wars franchise.

I've watched the last Episode of the Mandalorian "The Rescue" about 50 times now.
It chokes me up every god-damn time.

There's a line from the movie Excalibur when Arthur finally drinks from the Holy Grail "I never knew how empty was my soul, until it was full." (or something like that)

That's how I felt finally seeing a total badass Luke Skywalker showing up out of fucking nowhere and saving the day!

It was GLORIOUS!
