What to do with old comics?

I have boxes and boxes (around 2K total comics maybe?) of comics mainly from the late 70's to early 90's.
I never took care of them, none are bagged.
My cat used to like to sleep in the boxes and occasionally used the comics inside as a scratching post.
But most are fine.
Mainly Marvel and independents. I was never a DC guy.

I always thought my kids would enjoy them but other than a passive interest for a few months they sit unread.

I don't want to throw them away.
And I'm not going to take them to a comic store, collectors nauseate me.
Any suggestions on where to donate them?

To be honest they are all pretty beat up.
I just wanted them so my kids could enjoy them.....which they didn't really.
They liked them and read many but it was just a temporary distraction from the computer and Playstation and (thank goodness) real books.

But she's already been a very popular Mystique.
But no one had an issue with Chris Evans so maybe it's not a big deal.
I don't really care.
The MCU does a great job with their characters.

No mater who, I expect that she's not going to be what I want to see: a lovingly, submissive, soft, beautiful, blonde, large breasted......wait, where was I?

Actually not even the Bryne "reboot" of her character making her stronger, confident and independent would be enough by today's standards probably.

I forgot your favorite Sue artist question.

I like almost all of them but especially Bryne.
That period when Bryne did almost everything on the book is the gold standard for me with the FF.
Issue 241 when she gets naked comes to mind....

I know I'm alone in this but Sue's stripper uniform was the best thing I've ever seen in a FF comic.


Simonson, Jim Lee and Erik Larson always make her look adorable.

Bill Sienkiewicz and Keith Pollard really did a god job with her.

The dark ages were issues 300 to 350.
Artwork for all the characters was abysmal.

I stopped collecting comics a few years after Heroes Reborn (which was a good run).
Life got too busy and money was too tight.
I checked in every couple of years and flipped through a random FF book.
I didn't like any of it.
It was unrecognizable to me,
Reed was Doom? There was a daughter? Ben or Johnny was dead? They were off world? Nope, not for me.
There was some kind of reboot FF, another universe thing.
Reed was young and weak? ....dumb.

The Zombie run was good though. I did pick those up even though Sue wasn't pretty....but I still would have banged her.

I agree. John Byrne and George Perez were the best of the FF for me. I respect the Kirby years but that's not the time period when I became a fan.

Actually Rich Buckler and Joe Sinnott were the artists when I first started reading FF.

Perez and then later Byrne were the artists when I began buying them with my lunch money.





The Heroes Reborn Jim Lee issues intrigued me and weren't terrible.

The Heroes Return issues had decent art as well of course by then the story lines had become...well...ass as you mentioned.
