Space.

Post by peter »

Just a few questions about space. Are space and energy related in the same way energy and mass are? Ie, has space got energy bound up in it as mass does? Is there such a thing as a perfect vacuum? I mean, as long as there is one atom of matter in the universe then the vacuum is not perfect is it? Could the universe exist if it were just space - or are space and matter both demanded in a universe? If you take a box of empty space (no atoms of any kind in it), at the quantum level is it seething with activity - strangeness and charm and other equally colorful and flamboyant characters foaming in and out of existence, strings and membranes spinning around in a cosmic dance such that the possibility of space being truly empty is a physical impossibility?

No matter - just me thinking out loud.
The truth is a Lion and does not need protection. Once free it will look after itself.

....and the glory of the world becomes less than it was....
'Have we not served you well'
'Of course - you know you have.'
'Then let it end.'
