Mad God

Post by [Syl] »

Holy... This movie was insane. I feel slightly more insane for having watched it There's no dialog (nor is it exactly a musical, audio-visual kind of experience), and I'm not sure I could describe the plot other than maybe vaguely based on Dante's Inferno. It's basically like watching a movie with the same animation and atmosphere as the video for Tool's "Sober." More than once I wanted to stop watching but couldn't. And it basically dares you to walk away the entire time. I'm glad I didn't. It was a great damn movie, if an alright different kind of great.

Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

yeesh Tippett has worked on EVERYthing hasn't he? i watched the trailer then looked Tippett up as his name was unfamiliar to me. looking at his filmography it's hard to believe he's not a household name!! :D

i might have to watch it but i'll have to be in a certain state of mind for sure! heh

Altered State was the one that made the most impact on me (while tripping I mean). Watched The Wall on acid plenty times though. :D

Yeah, that occurred to me. You really need a word, though. Drunk/Sober. Stoned/___.
