Such sure-footed plotting. Cronenberg never loses his way. And Jennifer Jason Leigh gave one of my favorite female performances of that year.

Ouch! We just cut from the heated warm-up scene in the games shop, to the frog's corpse. Still a shock after years of viewing.

I saw eXistenZ at the cinema when it was new, and I've wanted to see it again since. I really liked it.

Time to put on Tron. A little happy nostalgia while I'm reading. :)

Lately, I've watched the Exorcist, A Clockwork Orange, The Shawshank Redemption, Eraserhead...last night I watched Chopper. I've now borrowed Donnie Darko, the original Japanese version of The Ring, and Wicker Man.

Had to watch Pitch Black after the talk about it. Went on to Ninth Gate. Fell asleep during that one, after the intrigue was over and the straight devilment started. I like Johnny Depp in this "aged" role.

I like the Bourne Identity. When I found out it's based on books, I had to look them up on the net, and I have to say it sounds like the books are better than the films. I'll have to add them to my lengthy reading list.

In the last couple of days, I've watched Donnie Darko and Ring (the subtitled Japanese version). Ring is quite good, but Donnie Darko is a bit pants, IMO. Good idea, rubbishly executed.

Blood Work, a Clint Eastwood flick that is good for rewatching. I try to watch it at least once, every time a new channel starts airing it. Eastwood gives it more humanity than author Michael Connolly gives his books, IMO.

'Metropolis' is just ending on Sky Movies. A fairly good anime, ending is impressive.

"Jekyl & Hyde," the filming of a stage play starring David Hasselhoff. His acting is overly dramatic, but his singing sounds surprisingly good. :) He changed singing styles from rock star to stage hero.

Weird indeed, CJ. :D I loved Catherine Keener (sp?) in it.

Now watching Gattaca. Jude Law. :)

following, from earlier today, Bringing Out the Dead, America’s Sweethearts, and The Postman.

I'd been intrigued by what I'd heard of the film 'Secretary', so when I saw that it was playing on Sky Movies today, I had to watch it. Brilliant, funny, and intense.

I thought it was a good idea, done badly. I seem to be in the minority.
