I got so excited when I discovered the coming of "Runes" that I ran right out to buy Lord Foul's Bane to reread the whole 6 books before it comes out. Now my siblings and parents have caught my enthusiasm and we have a sort of family project going in that we all are reading the series, some for the first time. I think that's cool.

Welcome, deven! It's VERY cool that your family is enthusiastic about the Chronicles. 
My sister knows the books, but my parents know little of Western literature, much less SRD. (Somehow, I don't think there are Chinese translations of the Chronicles.) So you should feel pretty fortunate about your parents' involvement, deven.
