Loric's Krill
Howdy, What ever happened to Loric's Krill ? One of my favorite moments from the second series is when Covenant walks out onto Glimermere and calls the krill up from the depths. I hope it makes a reapperance in the last chronicles..

Hmm. Well, it was pretty solidly embedded in the Troy-tree (heh), so I dunno what coulda happened to it in the last 3600 years, but considering the use of Lore and Earthpower has been so utterly restricted by the Masters two options spring to mind:
1) It's still stuck, and only White Gold or Anele can remove it, or
2) The Haruchai have stuck it in some musty room downstairs (and who's betting they keep the Earthpower stuff on display in the Hall of Gifts?).

My money is on "it's still stuck" although since it was only stuck in a tree trunk, and the people no longer respect wood like they used to, so I could see some Woodhelvennin wandering by and busting open the tree trunk to get it.Murrin wrote:Hmm. I wonder if the Masters still use the Aumbrie of the Clave?

Linden Avery made a comment that she was hoping it still *was* haunted - needing the Dead for guidance.drew wrote:I'd imagine Andelaine is still haunted.
Or maybe it's a place that the Masters refuse to go, or are unable, and Earthpower is still in full use.
-One can always hope.
I am sure the Masters would go there, but disdain the use of Earthpower. Stave seemed to react a little funny when Linden mentioned going to Andelain (found THAT interesting) and instead contrived to get the Ranyhyn to take the group to Revelstone.

I'm wondering if we will see a scenario similar to the Stonemight - some Woodhelvennin or Stonedownor retrieved the krill and brought it home to their village and is mounted on someone's wall...drew wrote:But know Stave is cut off from the masters. Maybe he will take Linden their for a little enlightening.
It wouldn't DO much since it is dead without a Lord or white gold to activate it, but it would sure look cool as hell!

If it was at the bottom of glimmermere, and TC pulled it out, I'm sure it can be rescued from a tree. Remember in the 2nd chrons, it was the power of the krill that kept glimmermere safe from the sunbane...so while it's hidden in a tree, it's quite possible that it's doing something positive in andelain.

True, he did say "beyond any hope of recovery", but anyone with an axe could chop up the tree stump and take the krill out... Presumably...dlbpharmd wrote:From WGW, chapter 14:
Stabbed deep in to the charred wood beyond any hope of removal was the krill. Only the flames that licked the stump made it visible; the light of its gem was gone.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!! Hadn't even THOUGHT of that... The stump is probably petrified wood by now...CovenantJr wrote:And am I the only person who thinks 3000-4000 years of rot and decomposition might not have done the stump any favours?
