John Vernon had great presence as a supporting character. I caught The Outlaw Josey Wales on TV just a couple of weeks ago, and Vernon was very fine in it. I'll also remember Vernon for his small but hilarious part in the Airplane! comedies. His commanding voice will be missed. :(
