I'm in Indiana... and from the very first time I read TCTC I guess I assumed that Haven Farm was somewhere in Illinois. [was this what SRD hoped to accomplish? Make it vaguely near wherever the average reader lives?]

I took the "down to Louisiana" literally and assumed that Haven Farm was in a state adjacent to the mighty Mississippi River. However, "down" to those in the MidWest can also mean anywhere south of where you are on a map. What does "down" mean in other regions?

One other researchy way to rule out some locations would be to go back to the 'real world' sections in 1st & 2nd CTC and look at the weather descriptions. Were any trees mentioned? The timber rattler can be found in most MidWestern locations that have woods/forest, which is anywhere except downtown Detroit. :?

Any thoughts?

Danlo, any response on what Bannor's Ranyhyn was named? I may have to break out my books and get all researchy.

Reading is hard for Waynhim, since we have no eyes. Do you know how freakin' hard it is to sniff braille???!!

I have a question. How were the haruchai able to find Sunder and Hollian's stuff in Revelstone? I think their telepathy extends farther than just mind-speech... :)

Jumping quickly back to the rattlesnake thing...we've got rattlesnakes as far north as southern Alberta, Canada...and probably even further north in Saskatchewan...those things could be anywhere. *her eyes dart around suspiciously, as if there could be one in her room*

back to where we are...
I don't actually recall Bannor's Ranyhyn's name ever being mentioned...

I figured I'd share the link with y'all. I knew I'd eventually dedicate one strip mentioning one of my favorite authors, so here goes:

I just wanted to say hello again and let everyone know I am back online. I finally got a job! A real one! One that uses the schooling I made it through! I like... get paid enough to support me and my kids without the child support that I never see! lol I am so happy!
