Some Poetry of mine

Post by Ariadoss »

I read somewhere on these forums that someone was concerned about their work being stolen. Well, I'm going to share three of my poems with you, two of which have been published online as well as in print. The first one (the one that has not appeared online) has been published in five separate anthologies so I'm pretty sure my copyright is secure. Like everything I post I hope to get some feedback, also if you like these, I can post more stuff that I've published or just stuff no one would dare to publish :P.

“Born In A World Of Hate”

We are,
Born in a world of hate,
Where drugs sedate our youth,
Where our government hides the truth.

The media controls our thoughts,
Pollutes our minds,
Is apathetic to our crimes!

What I see on TV,
The terror of the times,
Iraq, Sadam, the war for peace in the Middle East!
So many deceased,
Just to kill one man?

Should we continue so violently to discriminate?
Subject our children to the same ill fate?
Never! Through love we can eliminate,
All that is prejudice, all that is racist, and all that is hate!

“Conjoined As One”

Our hearts conjoined as one,
Our souls intermingle and fly through the sky,
My heart pounds with love and adoration for you,
Joy and laughter fills the air.
You are the sun and I am the earth,
Soaking up your light, your warmth, your energy, your love!
I’m over brimming with this power, this joy, this love!
Will the sun ever stop spreading its light over the earth?
Perhaps, but even then our love will endure,
Through the depths of the darkest most lonesome sorrowful night,
Through the endless bowels of time and space,
Till eternity wastes away, our hearts will stay:
Conjoined as one forever and today!

“Ode on Inspiration”

Oh, thou dreary muse, that leaveth,
Me uninspired, at my keyboard,
So befuddled, so confused!
You reproach me with your
Genius, oh your tedious derision,
It annoys me it destroys me,
Oh, must I make another stupid revision?!
Akin to an amateur physician, you execute the wrong incision,
You murder me with your indecision,
Remember I’m the one with the cloudy vision!

So sullen in my sorry hour,
Of dire, dank despair,
But still thou dost not care!
I seek a ration of thy illumination,
I implore yonder angels from fair heaven,
Oh great wonders who darest to repair,
All my many frivolous of errs.
If thou find my devotion so staunch and rare,
Environ me in an ocean of inspiration,
To inundate the dragon’s flames,
And save me from his treacherous lair!
