In Spite of Me

Trivia: Can anyone name the band and Album this thread title is from?

But that's not what this thread is about....

Is there any music you like in spite of yourself, whether because it's not your usual cup of tea, or goes against your normal image or whatever? Some songs just force me to like them whether I want to or not. Like Marilyn Manson, I tried so hard to hate his music because I hated his image. I still do. I think that man is not okay. But I can't help loving some of his stuff. Namely the Beautiful People and the Dope Show. Also Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus. I wanted to hate that song when it first came out because I thought it was stupid, but I couldn't. I absoloutly love that song. There are others, but I can't think of any right now.

Anyone else? Or am I just a split personality? 8O

Duran Duran. Absolutely nothing like anything else in my record collection, yet I can't help but love 'em. I think it's probably to do with hearing them a lot when I was a child.
Q. Why do Communists drink herbal tea?
A. Because proper tea is theft.

When I really stressed out from work there's this one Limp Biskit CD I like to blast in my car...it features that all time classic song "F is just a word"
With little kids, I rarely/never listen to stuff like that otherwise! :!: :!: :!:
Love as thou wilt.

Correct on both counts. 8) :D

Thought of another one that's a little different: I can't stand that song.....it may be called "Bump", or "I want something else" and it may be by some band..... or not :? . But it's the one that goes:

I want something else to get me through this
send me some kind of line (life?)
baby, baby
I want something else
I'm not listening when you say goodbye

I HATE that song..... but I find myself singing along with it unconsciously in the car :x

HA HA HA Now you're all going to have that one stuck in your heads for a week.

You are EVIL!!
Well cos' you loves it so much you can have the real lyrics!
It goes;
"I want something else
to get me through this
Semi-charmed kind of life
baby, baby
I want something else
I'm not listening when you say
Goodbye..."

Weird Al has that in one of his songs... I don't know who did it for real, I'm thinking Moby, but that's probably wrong.
