It's literary beefcake, not homo-erotic. :P
Pfftt. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Ok, Mappo and Trell. 2 strapping single blokes, in the prime of life (which is not hard when your practically immortal), muscles on top of muscles, long flowing, well groomed, hair, probably dressed in little more than loincloths, travelling together without the slightest mention of sexual contact with any females.

Explain, cos it seems pretty obvious what's going on to me. Oh yeah, I forgot, they're just friends. ;)
Icarium's forgetfulness could lead to some awkward moments. It'd be like getting drunk before bed every single night.

Now that I think about it, if I had to "point the finger," it'd be them.

Wait wait wait. How bout....cotillion and shadowthrone!? Weeeiiiiirrdd....

Hey, wanna hear a good one? I'm 800 pages into the 1,000 pages of the HoC paperback. I went to the local used bookstore last week looking for MT, B(h? heh), and RG, but they had NO Erikson at all! I meant to get the Mirror of Her Dreams hardcover I saw there, since hc's are only $1 there, in case anyone wanted it, but forgot to pick it up before I paid for other things and left. Relayer wants it, so I went back today to get it, and a hc of HoC had come in since last time!! :D :D :D Not bad for a buck, eh? :D

I found the too-expensive, large-sized MT at the local Borders, but Bonehunters is out of print, and nobody seems to have one left on their shelves. :( :( :( Well, I'll order a used copy from somewhere before I'm done with MT.

But what's with RG? Has it ever been in print in the US? Like Bone, it's scheduled to come out very soon, but I'm not likely to pay for a new hc copy of either at this point.

NoK is out in hardback and paperback from a major publisher now, so a lot less difficult to get.
The others, though, will not have US editions for a little while. I think the US publisher is still releasing them on the nine-month schedule and only very slowly catching up to the UK and Canada.

Yeah, Fist, I've been ordering my post-MoI books straight from either Amazon.ca or Amazon.co.uk because they're not out in the US yet. So it's not that Bonehunters is out of print in the US -- I don't think it's ever been *in* print here yet.

Hopefully Erikson's US sales are good enough and/or his contract with his US publisher requires them to publish all 10 of the novels here. Knowing what I know about the fantasy tastes of the US reading public, I'm a tad nervous....

(Oh gods, Tehol and Bugg -- they are among the best things about RG. And that's saying a lot!)

Just finished Bonehunters last night and started Reapers Gale.

I think I'm suffering from Malaz-overload. Though I'm enjoying them, I've read the whole series back to back and I was SO relieved when I finished Bonehunters, thinking I could start on something different. Then I realised that I HAD bought Reapers Gale, that it is HUGE, and my heart sank!

A year ago I could've read the whole series twice in the time it's taken me, but what with giving up the cigs, I'm not reading nearly as much as then.

edit: 100 pages to go and I can start FR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll be done with my re-read of books 1-4 tomorrow or Sunday. Then on to MT. Which I started once, so the beginning will be re-reading too. Heh. Anyway, I just wanted to say that reading 1-4 again within a year of having read them the first time has been fantastic! There's so damned much going on that it's not close to feeling like "Blah blah blah. I can't wait to be done with this so I can go on." So much stuff I forgot about. So much I didn't understand well enough. And the writing is just so great that it moves along as well as it did the first time!
