Thanks for the votes for my Signature, I missed out on the voting, so never saw a ballot, making it a complete surprise to see my name in lights as a winner in the opening post

Thank you, everyone. It's an honor to be in such illustrious company, past and present. To those who voted for me (I know who you are ;), which is a slight mark against the system to be avoided in the future), while I question your judgment, I am touched and humbled by your support. And to those who didn't... *shakes Fist*... I kid, I kid. My co-WsOTY(s) are amazing people whose recognition here is overdue.
Yes, we are. And you deserved it, too, Sheriff. But quit shaking Fist -- he's gonna end up doing that thing Chuzzles do when they sneeze and all their hair blows off.

So where do we collect our coveted WOTY icons? I didn't see 'em in the store. I assume they're a special-order item?

The regular 2011 Watchys are, but not the WOTY awards. I suspect those are closely held, guarded night and day, etc.

Or maybe not? I thought I saw somebody with a WOTY icon that was different from the regular Watchy. Could be wrong, I guess. And if it's gonna take until 2014 to get Jay to make one for us, never mind -- I can live without it.

*nod*

Pretty sure my 2008 WotY icon was privately made available to me. But I don't recall if it was a hidden option in the store, or somehow added to my items for me, or what...

Well, you could try PM'ing Effy and see if she might craft some WOTY icons and then carry them in your sigs. I'd do some if I didn't have my eyesight restrictions.

Well, you can have it in your signature for now - likely for quite some time :)

What about the winners who don't know they are winners? Is someone going to inform them?

While I usually don't pay attention to this kind of thing, it has come to my attention that there may be some confusion between winning a Watchie and winning Watcher of the Year (WOTY). My fault, I suppose, for the previously misleading title of this thread, where I referred to all the awards as "WOTYs."

Please make sure any adopted items and such make this distinction.
"It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.”

I do not remember what this referred to...over two months ago. However, it was before your self-imposed hiatus in mid-December. IIRC, the cow appeared after you returned, nu? (Or should that be "mu?" Moo!)

Since I said "sig image", I am going to fall back on the fact that I am usually fairly precise in my use of words. The cow and the jumping blue hulk that preceded him were avatars. I suspect that since I said "sig image", you had an image imbedded in the signature below your posts at that time, and that image is what I was complementing.

Again, I do not remember what it was. Such things are ephemeral on the Watch...
