I just thought of another ability that I would like to possess and I'm thinking of the fairytale "Rumplestilskin" here and that would be to turn straw into gold.
Now I know that "all that glitters is not gold" and "money can't buy happiness" and stuff but having an endless supply of money would mean NO MORE WORK and I could pursue "my heart's desire".
(Perhaps it doesn't rate as a 'super power' but it is a highly desirable ability)

I was under the impression (and I could possibly be wrong here) that it was in the very nature of a god to be immortal. Gods = ImmortalsRyzel wrote:Some gods are immortal and some gods die. It all depends on the god.
Now for a trivia question: Who wrote the book "This Day All Gods Die"?
Yes, Gods may die just Tolkien's elves may die even though they are immortal. But I would not consider a god to be a super hero any more than I would consider an elf to be one.
I`d like to be a god if at all possible but are gods superheroes? Its my way of thinking that
Gods = religion etc and
Superheroes = action figures, crime fighting etc

With a GL ring, you could get anything done!!
OK then, what's a god? I assume every religious system would define god by the qualities that the god(s) they believe in possess. The only definition I can see that can include what everyone has ever called a god is - whatever anyone believes is a god. Not all have been immortal; not all have been the creator of the universe; not all have been powerful beyond our ability to capture; not all have been particularly smart. I don't know of any quality that all gods have shared. I'm not even sure all gods have been worshipped.

Thanks, F&F! Actually, I could get anything done that didn't have yellow in it (If I remember my GL stories correctly). I just really liked the whole premise of the rings...and other ring stories (They sure seem popular don't they?)
Don't know all the answers about gods and God, but I suspect that they are all worshiped in one way or another, though it's a great question! I mean, the mere idea of them being gods would seem to mean that they were worshipped. Have to ask my pastor.

"At one time."
"What happened to her?"
"She has been dead."
"How long ago did she die?"

I'm not even going to get into the God/gods question. Too controversial for me.
But I would like to point out that Fist and Faith DOES have a superpower. Yes, really he does. Over at Ahira's Hangar he is called Highdrake and Highdrake is able to clone/xerox/copy himself at will! last night there were six of him with us.

This guy is in a bar 30 stories high and he takes a drink of his beer, slams it down on the table and takes a flying leap out the window. A few seconds later he falls back in the window he just jumped out of. Everyone just gawks at him drunkenly until one guys asks "How the hell did you do that" He gets a smug look on his face and says "well, the wind currents up here are really strong so you just jump out the window and they suck you around and push you back in." "I don't believe you." says the other guy, "Do it again" So the first guy leaps out the window and lands back inside a few seconds later. The second guy is in awe and really wants to impress all the other gawking people in the bar so he take a running leap at the window and dives out and goes *SPLAT* on the pavement. The bartender looks at the first guy and says, "Superman, you're a real dick when you're drunk"
