Well Ladies and Gentlemen...here's some news for you (direct from SRD's News Page on his website)
"Fatal Revenant" news
The first draft of "Fatal Revenant" is now finished. But don't get your hopes up. I anticipate a year of rewriting--and editorial to-ing and fro-ing--before D&A ("delivery and acceptance"); and my publishers may not commit to a schedule for release until after D&A.
"Fatal Revenant" is roughly 150 pages longer than "The Runes of the Earth" was at this stage. As I recall, I cut about 125 pages out of "Runes" before publication. I think we can assume that the same thing will happen to "Fatal Revenant," so the final version will still be somewhat longer than "Runes".
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Actually, if you read the whole post, he also reveals how much time it took him to write Revenant and how much it took him to write Runes - 16 and 20 months, respectively - so he's getting faster

He must have added that later (as the original post didn't have that information on it)...maybe he's trying to console people (ie: he's working as fast as he can).

That's actually quite funny; but I don't know Wayfriend: I would hope that over time he's got "better" at what he does, (although I did laugh at your "See Linden Run" Fatal Revenant first draft version...but I've got a hunch it's not as bad as that! )
