Guilty Pleasures
OK, you know what I'm talking about. Those really bad movies that you just can't keep from watching over and over again.
I'm gonna start with Red Dawn. It's an awful movie, the acting's horrible, and looking back, the premise is so implausable it's laughable.
But I can't stop watching it every time it comes on TV. The dialogue's so bad I giggle like a schoolgirl. Lea Thompson looks hot when she's covered in filth. And lots of stuff blows up.

i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

That's the point, man. I like Red Dawn, but it's bad. It's really bad.dlbpharmd wrote:Hey, I like both those movies.
How can you listen to a line like...
Especially with the gawdawful delivery that C.Thomas Howell gives it and not laugh? The Colonel: All that hate's gonna burn you up, kid.
Robert: It keeps me warm.

Braveheart. It's more my fault than anything, cause I feel guilty that, when I was a kid, I thought it to be completely accurate, history-wise. Don't get me wrong, it's a great piece of Hollywood spectacle and Mel Gibson should be congratulated. The spirit of the film is what's important, and he nailed that.

well I have a few:
Plan 9 From Outer Space - love it for how bad it really is.
Roadhouse - Can't figure it out -- it's as hockey as they come, but I watch it every time it is on...
House on Haunted Hill (the remake) - this is a bad movie, but it has three scenes that always creep me out, so I watch it...

I hadn't thought about Roadhouse. I own the dvd. As cliched as can be, but you gotta love the incorruptable good guy. And I truly consider the big showdown to be among the very best fights ever filmed. None of that stupid turning your back on your opponent and sneering when he goes down for a second, only to have him put you in a full nelson a second later. Just two highly skilled guys trying to kill each other every instant.
And again I have to go back to favorite movie lines!

Starship Troopers
I love both those movies... even though they aren't exactly academy award material.

Force 10 from Navarone--Jim Brown, Harrison Ford, Tervor Howard--underappreciated film. If I see any of it I have to sit down and watch the whole thing which is rare for me as I seldom watch a movie more than once. Any of the Aliester MacClean books turned into movies-Guns of Navarone, Where Eagles Dare, The Gold Bug, The Puppet Masters, Breakheart Pass.--great actors in all of them: Eastwood, Burton, Niven, Baseheart, Bronson, you name it.
fall far and well Pilots!
