I AM BUMMED!!!

Roger Waters played here in Tampa last Saturday night and I had tickets.
However, a family emergency summonsed me away for the weekend
and ended up giving my pair of tickets away.

If I hadn't seen him during Radio Kaos Tour, I would had really been pissed!
(And... I may have to work out of town during Rush. :(
I sure hope not!)
Have you hugged your arghule today?

Well of course you did. I think it's probably the best concert film out on DVD now.

Until Delicate Sound of Thunder comes out.

Overhead the albatross hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
In labyrinths of coral caves
The echo of a distant tide comes willowing across the sand
And ev'rything is green and submarine
And no one showed us to the land and
No one knows the wheres or why and
Something stares and something tries and
Starts to climb towards the light

Strangers passing in the street, by chance
Two sep'rate glances meet and I am you and
What I see is me
and do I take you by the hand
And lead you through the land
And help me understand the best I can
And no one calls us to the land and
No one crosses there alive and
No one speaks and no one tries and
No one flies around the sun

Now this is the day you fall upon my waking eyes
Inviting and inciting me to rise
And through the window in the wall comes
Streaming in on sunlight wings
A million bright ambassadors of morning and
No one sings me lullabies and
No one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide and
Call to you across the skies
fall far and well Pilots!

"ECHOES" is one of my all time favorite songs!

Fortunately, I own both the original and director's cut of "Live At Pompeii".

(Did you know that Dark Side Of The Moon premiered a full year before being released?
It was in the works almost at the time Meddle was being made.)

Love this song. Best thing they ever did, I think.
Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begin

Along the long road and on down the causeway
Do they still meet there by the cut

There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The night of wonder

Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide

At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world

Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
Theres a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road we've been so many time

The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river

Forever and ever

... and it's about the place where I live right now... (but I do not regard it as their best ever, not that I could easily pick one that is, probably not at all)

Check it out. Look for this in a city near you.

Yep, it will be playing here. Gotta mark the date and get tickets. If he's doing Echoes, I gotta see it.

That's the day of the FL-TN game, Pam.

I have to work that day and won't get off until 2pm so I can't make it.

No...

...banging head against wall...

Has a time for the game been set yet? If it's a night game, I'm OK.

330 EST according to SECsports.com. You'll either have to Tivo the game, or just buy the Gilmour show on DVD...

I think I can guess which you'll do ;)
