My son who was about 16 months old at the time, was learning new vocubulary. I was picking up dirty laundry in the bathroom when he went over and picked up a pair of my husband's dirty underwear, turned to me, and said "poo-poo". He knows what poo-poo is and where it comes from BUT neither...

I kind of picture the caesure as the "nothing" from the Neverending Story. I don't know if this is what SD intended, but that's the image that comes to mind. On Anele..... I'm sure this has been discussed in Runes discussion thread, but Anele is Elena backwards. There's got to be something...

Excellent dissection Wayfriend. I like the parallels to the previous Chrons. Great analysis for a disorienting chapter! Don't really have additional insight to add.

Hello all-- Mailk, I understand where your coming from. Linden's "motherly instincts" seems a little contrived. Prehaps a more realistic picture would have been Linden coming home to a dark house and stepping on a Lego with barefeet "Jeremiah, pick up these *** %^&* LEGOS NOW!&quo...

Hi all, I'm finally catching up here. Regular lurker and occasional posted, but re-reading Runes specifically for this discussion. Anyway, about what Lytton says to Linden. It is harsh and cruel and I think he intended it to be so, but is it enough to send her into a comatose state? I think under &q...

Henderson the Rain King- by Saul Bellows

hi all, Just wondering if anyone here has read Henderson the Rain King by Saul Bellows. I'm about 1/3 ofthe way through and finding it to be quite an interesting read. Henderson is a real bastard (can I say bastard?), a oh- my-poor-suffering-soul type. (Remind you of anyone else you know???) I hope ...

Who is more stupid the people in the clip or the news director?
Don't you love the serious tone of the reporter. Poor guy.

Hmmm, issues would be so much easier if they were just black & white, huh? In Europe, (or at least the countries I've been to, Itlay, Netherlands, Switzerland) the tip is worked in to the price of the food and the waitstaff is given a decent wage. People are not expected to leave a tip, and from...

Duchess, I am so so so so so freaking jealous! I want the full report! I want to see U2 so badly but I couldn't get tickets! I am so upset. I am finally at a point in my life where I am still young enough to go to a concert and not look like one of those "middle-aged" losers (as I thought ...

Maybe they got lost on their way to the comic book festival......

I've seen this before at Ren Fest here in Texas, too. I don't get it. Someone needs to tell these people that whateverCON and the Reniessance are not one in the same.

What would you do????

OK, I am, like many people, anxiously awaiting AFFC on Nov. 8th. But I'm debating on how to purchase the book. Should I take my chance at the local book store, or should I order from Amazon or Barnes & Noble.com? If I order online, will I get it it BY Nov. 8th, or will it SHIP on Nov. 8th? Anyon...

I finally saw this movie this weekend. I thought it was hilarous, but not in an obvious way-it is very subtle, like Napoleon's t-shirts! Cracked me up! Made me laugh how everyone was stuck in 1986. You know what I hate about it? All the people it's spawned who run around quoting it constantly in ver...

I just thought of a couple more... That Charmin toliet paper commerical with the cartoon bears. Stupid! Everyone knows that bears don't use toliet paper in the woods-they use rabbits! Also that commerical about the frozen fish.. "Uncomfortable around fish." Those are just plain weird! -Avy
