I didn't mean to imply that I was in the camp of those that believe that the Land was simply in TC's head, and his subsequent catharisis. It was merely a suggestion as to how those lines blur. I had not thought about the summonded subject being close to death. That is an interesting point. It seems ...

One possible explanation would be in the camp as characters as part of TC himself. As TC is powerful, but unable and unwilling to truly help, perhaps HT is the yang to that yin. Here is a guy that is willing and able to help, but lacks the true power to make the difference. Of course he does make so...

I guess I missed the interview with SRD that aHKA was not Haruchai. But at least we know he wasn't bloodgard. However, there does seem to be a connection in the way he fights. Could it be that aHKA was special force in which whoever fought him was actually fighting a perfected version of himself? So...

I guess I perhaps mis-spoke. Obviously a best selling author (TC), a problem-solving prodigy (HT) and a Doctor (LA) are all significant. But dispite what they contribute, or do, they are isolated in a social way. Even if what they do contributes to society, etc. what they ARE in terms of emotional c...

Perhaps it has been mentioned before, but Aku was not a bloodguard, he was Haruchai. The Bloodguard did not exist (if you will as an organization) until Kevin's time. So Berek would not have known a Bloodguard, only a Haruchai. It also seems to me that I remember reading that the Haruchai were, to p...

I guess I always looked at the parallel between TC and the Beggar. There was a connection between the "Heros" of the Land and the suffering ones in the "Real World". Even Hile Troy fits this as a disabled, isolated throw-away of the real word. Yet in The Land, he is a man of sign...

One of the things that struck me about the Elohim is that they were not productive at all. They didn't do anything other than bask in being themselves. They may meet and discuss grave topics, but it seems that they are seldom involved in any real "life". My thinking is that because they AR...

I have always had a bit of a hard time with Kevin myself. But then again I had a hard time with Luke in Star Wars! Names are so important to the character. Can you imagine Mhoram being named Jim instead. Or Saltheard Foamfollower being named "Terry"? However, from dealing with some writers...
