Time to revive this one. IMO, the Land is real, and it is not real. To borrow Jung's terminology, the Land is the collective unconscious. It is, in that sense, not real. It is the latent dream-world that exists in the human psyche. It is the place where human consciousness grows, evolves, struggles....
