I also enjoy the Crystal Singer series and The Ship Who Sang books by McCaffrey. I believe she had extensive classical music training outside of being an author, and it comes through in her books, including in Pern.

What fantasy/science fiction book are you reading RIGHT NOW?

My preference for Pern is published order, even with the intermingling of the first three Dragonriders books and The Harper Hall books. The stories are concurrent and effect each other. And by the time you get to The White Dragon, you’ll need to know who Piemur, from the Harper Hall is. The “passes”...

Ah, the Pern series. What do you think of them? On my list to read someday.
I would say my username answers that question on my behalf…

The image I posted is a screenshot of my phone in landscape view. It may be my iPhone is a dinosaur, or it may be that I use the built in browser on my ancient phone, but I don’t see post count or badges or anything, either in portrait or landscape mode. However, I do see those things, including wha...

I’m trying something new in my raised beds this year. I was gifted a two year old artichoke transplant by one of the former food bank garden coordinators at Marymoor Community Garden in appreciation of my help last year with watering some of the food bank beds. I always thought our garden here on th...

How Do You Feel Today? v4

I had my most recent annual physical in mid December. At that time, my weight has been the highest it has been since before I started keto, my blood pressure was slightly high, and my a1c test for my type II diabetes came back over 7 again, which it has done every three months for the past two years...

We have germination!

I just got this set up yesterday, and even as compact as it is, it’s precariously balanced where I had room for it. Hopefully I can find a board the perfect width and length to give it stability.

What's for dinner?

The Luck o’ The Irish Americans to Ye! Dinner last night was my traditional corned beef and cabbage to acknowledge and enjoy St. Patrick’s Day. https://i.ibb.co/206NXCKB/79-CBD08-A-6648-4-A7-A-A142-6-B37-DFEC1-AA3.jpg Sliced corned beef. I used a flat cut, rather than a point cut, even though I pref...
