Its a hit

This is from Locus SF online:
George R.R. Martin's A Feast for Crows (Bantam) debuts on all 5 print lists compiled here, ranking the #1 fiction hardcover on three of them -- New York Times, Washington Post, and Publishers Weekly.
That's #1 for ALL fiction, not just SF/fantasy. Wow.

GRRM on Locus cover

The new issue of the great mag Locus has GRRM as the cover story.

On another note, the Science Fiction Book Club is offering pre-orders of FFC for $15 plus shipping, nearly half the regular price.

I just found another excerpt, this on on-line at Locus Magazine.

Maybe this has been around, not sure.

Wow. I had no idea so many had been released. I take it these appeared at GRRM's website.

I guess the Dany, Jon and Sam chapters will be DWD and not FFC, since he has split the plot lines into two books.

I'm set. I found the SFBC edition on eBay's BuyItNow for the club's original sale price. Seller has a stellar rating and described it as excellent condition. Thanks for your help. I also found this for sale on eBay  : cgi.ebay.com/Thomas-Covenant-Thomas-Covenant_W0QQitemZ4738975600QQcategoryZ30...

I did. Nothing but boxed sets of the paperback editions I believe at the moment. I'll keep checking.

Feast Excerpt in book stores

Hello. I'm new to this board and thrilled to see a GRRM forum. I read AGOT four years ago, then ACOK two years ago, and I recently finished ASOS (no, I'm not a slow reader, just read many other things in between). Today while browsing in Borders I found a huge display with a new edition paperback of...

SFBC edition?

The Science Fiction Book Club did offer the first 3 books in one volume. Now that I am finally reading the series I decided to buy it (all I have is a beat-up paperback copy) and of course its sold out, apparently never to return. I much prefer hardcover for my fiction. Does anyone have an extra cop...

Uh... where? At least there I won't need to worry about spoilers. :)

Thanks, everyone, for the coaxing, and the warm welcomes. Knowing that I'm not the only one who had this reaction, and knowing that the rape is clearly much more than a gratuitous event, motivates me to press on. I remember back in the 70s, as a teenager, noticing my older brother had a copy of Lord...

Just starting out... need coaxing

I'm sure most folks here are ardent fans of the Thomas Covenant series, so this is the best place to turn. I just started reading Lord Foul's Bane after many years of meaning to get to it. The publication of the newest volume of the series finally motivated me. But now, early on, I have stopped. I w...
